Zeke:He took Adalyn in and so doing; they were raised as brother and sister. Although he has done a great thing...he still needs a lot to grow. He is young and impuslive so what can you say, right! He tries to act tough by throwing out Bible verses, but even when he tries to insult he can't get the verse right. Pretty sad when you try to insult someone but instead of being effective; that person turns around and says you make no sense. The verses you are trying to insult me by are supposed to be so and so. Yes, even nonbeleivers know the Bible and have read a few verses. What separates believers from unbelievers is not that one has read the Bible and the other hasn't. Both of them could have read the Bible; it's just that while one only believes it to be a cool story; the other believes it to be true so before you attack someone...make sure you really know what you're talking about or else they'll tear you apart and you won't be able to defend yourself. Moving on, he tries his best to follow God but he's still a kid and struggles to realize a lot of things, one of them being that everything belongs to the Lord. In his sight he blames the adults for not teaching us kids better on how to live a Christian life. Instead they just scold us, punish us, or spank us on the behind everytime we mess up; but they never come beside us and help us do what's right. That is what we need. God says we should not only pray with our lips but then walk beside the person 'where they are at' and then lead them back to God. Don't just pray, hate, and walk away. Zeke eventually breaks down and says to Shadow, I need your help. Please! I just need you to help me! That's tha prayer we all should be asking not only to God but also to each other. Don't just pray for me in your house and then scold me on the streets. How can I become a better Christian when all you do is scold me but don't tell me what I could do differently?
Leovanni: Zekes younger brother and a shadow of Zeke. Whatever Zeke tells him to do; he does. And whatever Zeke wants him to do; he does it. Basically what Zeke says go. It's kinda like those kids in highschool where you can clearly tell who is the ring leader and who is the other one that just follows in their footsteps because they know nothing else and are scared of what that person might do to them if they start to think opposite of what is intended. Those are the people you feel sad for. The leader thinks they are all that and they have control over someone else; so the other follows them around like a puppy but is too scared to leave and branch off on their own. The only way to truly blossom and grow as a Christian though is to start beleiving what you believe and now doing something else is doing just because the majority is doing it so I have to. You soon realize just because there are more doing one thing then the other doesn't always mean the majority group is always in the right. That only means they have more say. Anyways with a lot of scolding from Hopper and Shadow; Leo breaks free from his brother's hold and in so doing; he realizes how strong and confident he really is. He is able to more boldly speak out verses and also finish verses and use the right verses. Shadow starts the journey of finding all the pieces for the bottle but once Leo shows that he is his own man; Shadow let's Leo take over and Leo does a pretty good job of it. That is until his sister gets made and….yea. Let's not talk about that.
Dandelion: Adalyns true younger sister.Throughout her life she followed in Adalyns shadow and was sheltered but unlike Hoppers dad that when he saw that his brother was in the light more; decided to overthrow him and have the power for himself; Dandelion loves Adalyn and they grow tighter. They bounce off of each other and are always there for each other whenever one of them feels alone. Adalyn teaches her about the greatest magic of all; Love,' and Dandellion does her best to keep reminding Adalyn of it. Adalyn does get separated and runs away from home but Dandellion still holds out hope. Although I can't see you Adalyn..I know you are alive and still here with me. "Timothy, you have seen me and touched me but greater is he who has not seen or touched me. Great is there hope in me." When I leave I want you to keep your hope in me and that is what Dandellion does.
Maurice: Adalyns father. He is father to Dandellion and Adalyn but can you just imagine how hard it must be being him? In all of his family members he has had a gene of magic in everybody but it's not the good kind. This gene turns people's souls evil until one day they have gone too far and are too powerful. Uuhh, I just can't. He loves them all but he also knows that once their spirit fully encompases then he knows he has to kill them or else they'll kill everyone else. Why do you think he made the law, "If anyone caught helping a magician then they too will be put to death?"
Adalyn: I know you all were upset when I hinted at bringing Sixth Star back but instead brought Hopper back. I had to keep the title somehow so if I didn't revive him then I would've had to change the title. Anyways I know how cool Sixth Star was and knew I needed to make another relatable character and one of my friends said it would be cool to tell the story from the bad person's sense of perspective as well so people would feel for the bad person too. Ohh, and make her relatable. So I have imbued characteristics of Sixth Star and her love into Adalyn but instead of Adalyns message being of hope and love...it's just love. When she is wrongly accused and is hated on by all people; how can she still love? Her sister does her best to help her love but at the end of the day it is her choice. She has done nothing wrong to anyone and has even spared the lifes of everyone she loves, but this is how they repay their gratitude. Could you still love if you were in her situation? Adalyn finds out the hard way what love and punishment really mean. Do they go hand in hand or are they separate? Can you love without punishing or maybe punish without love? It's a hard decision and even harder to do both at the same time. If you were in her situation, which would you choose? Would you choose love, punishment, or struggle to stay with both? To make matters even more difficult; the gene that her parents so kindly gave her is now taking effect so it's only a matter of time until she fully turns. How long can she hold out? Is it worth wrestling yourself in order to stay in the truth of Christ or would it be better to just give in to the darkness, evil, and sin within yourself? IDK? Maybe, like Sixth Star, she can take this bad situation and turn it around into a positive one that will only give her more strength then previous.
