He needs to settle this situation immediately before another round of fight escalates. He pointed his sword towards to the other man and glared back at him.
"Look here Mister whoever you are, I didn't do anything for you to be mad at me, as far as I remember, and this is the first time that I saw you! You're the one who started a fight without reason! Are you not afraid of punishment?!"
He yelled back at the other person but took a deep breath as he didn't want to let his emotions overcome him in this situation.
'Scarlette, just where the heck are you right now!'
He didn't want to resort to violence and wanted to try negotiating with this person in front of him as he wanted to do this in a more civil way than fighting him once again in a battle.
Honestly, if it were him, Ryan would just take this matter in his own way since that's how he usually done his thing back in his home kingdom.
Unfortunately, as of right now, "Ryan Wayne" was just nothing but an outlander of this empire and a lower-rank adventurer without backing so, if he made a mistake, consequences would follow.
'Tsk! If it weren't for my master, then… I won't take this task but since I owed him a debt, I should at least, help him with this…'
Right now, however, it seems that the other man isn't affected by what Ryan stated earlier as he looked down at him from head to toe and smirks.
"Do you think that matters to me? Tsk! This is why you should know your place, kid! You're just nothing but an E-Rank adventurer, yet Scarlette took you as her companion for the first time?"
The other man arrogantly said and those words alone shocked him the most because this arrogant unknown man knew that he was with Scarlette.
'Wow! This madman is practically insane! He doesn't fear anything as he spout that nonsense coming from his mouth! Just who the heck is he for him to flaunt his imaginary feathers in front of me?!'
What makes him dumbfounded is that he never expected that…. Just because Scarlette choose him as her companion that this arrogant bulky man had the reason to pick a fight with him?!
'What the heck?! Just because of that?! Just how petty this guy can be?!'
Ryan almost lost his reason because of the arrogant man's petty reason and for once, in his whole life, he couldn't believe that he would be subjected to this kind of treatment.
This is the first time that he felt his pride being stooped down by some lowly commoner and he felt humiliated as well.
Back in his home kingdom, noblemen were always seeking favors at him even more, some of them were envious but they didn't do it openly, but he knew better than anyone else that they were trying to outsmart him or dragged him down from his place.
Noblewomen, on the other hand, would flaunt at him at any chance they could get and that was all because of his status.
He would admit at first when Scarlette ignored him back at the guild when he approached her, he felt humiliated even though he said to himself that it's not a big deal.
His pride hurts when he was ignored but he couldn't help it. He is a noble by blood and birth, and the crimson-haired woman is just a mere commoner so who would dare to ignore him like that?
However, upon learning that woman's name and identity as the famous SSS-Rank Adventurer, he felt ashamed and inferior to her.
Because even though she is just a commoner, across the whole continent, she is being praised and worshipped by others.
Especially nobles and royal families from different Empires and Kingdoms.
'Actually, when I learned from Scarlette about her special relationship with the Silveria Empire's Emperor, I think I shouldn't think about her being just a commoner anymore.'
That kind of setup situation, Ryan knew better.
Once more, he snapped from those thoughts and looked once again at the arrogant petty man in front of him.
If he wasn't on an important mission, Ryan would just execute this person without remorse.
However, he couldn't afford to be careless right now and he didn't want his fake identity to be exposed and not only that, but many spectators are also watching them, and he didn't want to burden Scarlette because of this.
'I bet after this mess, that woman would clean this up for herself since I am with her and Scarlette would take responsibility because of my actions.'
Although it wasn't entirely his fault about this commotion, but Ryan could picture out the consequences of this matter and it would put the crimson-haired woman into a bad situation.
Ryan needs to think something first but since it came to this then, might as well do something that can provoke this man and shattered his arrogance for once.
He smirks back at him, which makes the arrogant man's smirk fades away and tilted his head in a confusion manner.
Ryan withdraw his sword first and put back on its scabbard as he crossed his arms around his chest and snorted back at him, much to the irritation of the arrogant man.
"WHY YOU—"
He cut him off immediately as he shrugged off his shoulder and said; "Just because of that? Yes, I'm an E-Rank Adventurer but why did Scarlette choose me over the other adventurers out there? Maybe because she saw something in me that is worthy of her time."
Although he just said those statement in a nonchalant manner, if others listened carefully, there is a hint of provocation on his tone and the arrogant man glared back at him even more.
"Why were you guys making a big deal about this? You know what, this petty reason of yours on why you suddenly attacked me makes you look stupid. You're just like a kid throwing a tantrum. Tsk! What a disgrace for an adult like you."
Ryan continues nonchalantly but in reality, there is still that mocking tone whenever he said those words and the arrogant man's expression changed from smug arrogance to an aggressive one.
He knew that he had hit some point and became alert as he immediately pulled out his sword from his scabbard because he felt something from the arrogant man's presence that he couldn't identify.
