Chleo didn't know what to do to ease the tightness in her chest. She got up and walked out of her girly room. This time she headed to her parent's room. Without hesitation, Chleo opened the door to her parent's bedroom, then walked up to the bed where her parents were still fast asleep.
Chleo crawled in between her sleeping parents. Vincent and Cathy both wake up feeling an intruder blocking them from embracing each other. After realizing that the intruder was their little angel, the two looked at each other in astonishment.
It was unusual for Chleo to want to sleep with them. Usually, Chleo fancier to sleep alone to prove to adults that she was no longer a child.
"What is it, darling? Can't sleep?" asked Cathy with an affectionate tone.
"Mama, I feel sad."
Cathy noticed her daughter's cheeks were wet with tears. The mother quickly turned on the light and then took her daughter in her arms. Vincent frowned slightly when the light of the lamp suddenly struck his eyes.
"What's wrong?" Vincent rubbed his eyes several times to see his wife along with his little daughter.
"I think she had a bad dream. It was nothing." Cathy was still holding her daughter tightly while patting her on the back gently.
Vincent moved closer and stroked Chleo's hand before squeezing it into his big hand. Unable to contain his drowsiness, Vincent went back to sleep because he was sure that Cathy was more capable than he was to comfort Chleo.
Cathy patiently continued to pat Chleo's back lovingly. She has not accepted the departure of her best friend, who has sacrificed her life to save her twin brother. She also has to join hands with Stanley to make sure Kinsey wouldn't act rashly that would hurt himself.
Cathy felt she was pretty depressed at the thought of the condition of the only sibling she had. To make it worse, she still didn't know if her best friend was still alive or not.
Nevertheless, she was always there for her two children. However, why did Chleo admit that she was sad to the point she shed tears?
Cathy and Vincent had always ensured the happiness and well-being of their two children. No matter if Cathy felt sad because of the loss of her best friend, Cathy always forced herself to stay cheerful for the sake of her two kids.
And now Chleo said she was sad? Is it because of her?
"Chleo dear, do you want to tell me why you are sad? Are you having nightmares again?"
Ever since Chleo was kidnapped a few months ago in Germany, this girl had indeed had nightmares while sleeping. But not often, and Chleo was still able to get back to being normal.
Chleo wasn't traumatized and wasn't afraid of strangers, though she now kept her distance from strangers a bit... which was a good thing. That way, Chleo will not quickly get along with strangers who had evil intent toward her.
Chloe shook her head slowly. "I don't know, mom. I'm just feeling sad. Why does it hard for me to breathe? It felt very unpleasant. I don't want to be sad."
Cathy smiled softly at that. This is the first time Chleo has felt negative emotions for the first time at the age of six. Feelings of fear, feelings of despair when kidnapped, and now feelings of sadness.
Vincent had tried his best not to let any of these negative emotions get to his two children, but in the end, Chleo did.
Well, there might be times when they would feel sad, but at least... Vincent didn't want his kid to be traumatized or overly scared.
"Sadness is not pleasant indeed. There are all kinds of feelings of sadness in this world. For example, you will feel sad when you are failing in some competitions, getting bad grades in school, and also... losing loved ones. But no matter what you feel, always remember, your papa and I will support you and always be by your side. Believe me, when you come out of your sadness, you will find happiness that will replace all your sadness."
"Really?"
"Of course. Like when a rainbow will appear after a heavy rain, a laugh is always there in the midst of tears. Tonight you can cry as much as you want because tomorrow, you will laugh again."
Chleo snuggled her head deeper in her mother's embrace, and she let her tears fall out.
After a while, her crying subsided, and the deep slumber hit the little girl.
Cathy kissed the top of her daughter's head then positioned Chleo between her and her husband. Tonight… Cathy was more than happy to be sleeping with her daughter.

Vasili Peskhov's funeral procession was carried out without obstacle. All who took care of the funeral and kept journalists from looking for information about the deaths of the Peskhov brothers was Rothbert Hamilton.
Rothbert deliberately didn't put any photos on top of Vasili's and Alexsei's coffins. Neither did he escalate the issue of the cause of death so that the police would not interrogate all residents of the Peskhov family residence.
Alexsei killed Vasili while Alexsei died because his heart was frozen due to the blue king's cold energy. Rothbert knew this, but he hid it.
He only told people that Vasili died of acute depression due to his father's loss, while Alexsei died of a heart attack.
Rothbert did so carefully and neatly and did not allow anyone to perform an autopsy. No one suspects the cause of the death of the Peskhov brothers. Because of that, everything went smoothly.
The only one left is 10-year-old Alexis Peskhov.
The boy had just lost his grandfather, and now he must lose his beloved father and uncle. The kid must have been devastated.
"Young master Alexis, would you like to come with me? I will serve you as I serve Mr. Vasili. I will also guide you to carry on the legacy of the Lord Peskhov. When you find the goals and ideals you want to achieve, I will let you go. What do you think?"
"Who are you?" asked Alexis with a sad look. He had never met this person before. But he didn't care if this stranger would trick him. After all, now he was alone in this world. All his family left him alone in this world.
"My name is Rothbert Hamilton. I am Master Vasili's confidant. If you wish, allow me to be your guardian. This is all at the request of the master in the will before his death."
"Uncle Vasili asked you?"
"That is correct," answered Rothbert with his fatherly smile.
"Then... I will come with you."
Since then, little Alexis has been cared for and raised by Rothbert and lives with the Hamilton family in London.
