Chapter 5 - Ch. 5 I Want Your Smile

Alexis Peskhov was his adoptive father's beloved grandkid when he still used the name of Vasily Peskhov. It had been a long time since he had seen the boy since he faked his death so that no one would suspect his young face even though people knew him to be a man in his forties.

He adored and cherished Alexis dearly because he has seen the child grow from infancy to adolescence. Even so, why didn't he like to hear that Chleo was in a relationship with the boy?

Axel didn't show his displeasure and listened to Chleo's complaints. For some reason, Chleo's parents opposed their relationship, so Chleo was desperate to flee home and go to Seattle.

Since then, Alexis didn't see her, and the girl couldn't reach out to the man. She believed her boyfriend was angry because he thinks that Chleo was more obedient to her parents.

"It's not like I will do every word my parents told me. I'm willing to cut ties with my family if he wished for it. But still, I hope he understands that there's a part of me that doesn't want to break my mother's heart."

"I understand." Axel tried to get rid of his jealousy and offers to help Chleo.

No, it wasn't due to his jealousy. The truth is he doesn't know that he is jealous. Right now, he just wanted to see the girl smiling. He still had never seen what the hearty smile looked like on Chleo's face. So he decided to please the girl.

"Do you want to meet Aleksis? I can bring him here if you wish."

"Aleksis is not someone you can reach out to as easy as meeting a friend. If he doesn't want to be found, then he won't come out. He is the owner of a well-known Russian company. How could you bring him here?" Chleo couldn't believe his words.

"Wanna bet with me? If I succeed in bringing him here, I want you to smile for me."

Chleo frowned at the strange request. In the next second, she showed her so-called best smile. "I can smile now."

"That's not what I wanted. I don't like this smile of yours."

Chleo stared in disbelief at what she was hearing. What's with his guy?

"Then what kind of smile do you want?"

"Hm..." Axel muttered as if he was seriously thinking about something. "I think I'll be able to see your smile once you meet him." He continued back with a mysterious tone.

Chleo just sighed in resignation. She did not expect Axel to bring Alexis to meet her. She knew better than anyone else. Alexis was furious and might as well hated her.

Nonetheless, she would love it if Axel did manage to get Alexis to meet her. She needed to talk it out with Alexis to determine their relationship.

She still loved him, but strangely she didn't think of him these past couple of days.

Axel couldn't hide his smile and couldn't wait to reach out to Alexis and invite the young man to this city. Since 'Vasili Peskhov' had been declared dead, he shouldn't have contacted the young man as 'Vasili.' So he would introduce himself as the 'son' of Vasili Peskhov.

Although he felt confident that Chleo had no relationship with Vincentius Regnz, he couldn't help but investigate her background. Plus, the girl claimed to be his nephew's lover, making him want to know about this girl's background.

Axel was a person who keeps his promises. He managed to persuade Alexis to come to Seattle to meet him as Vasili's son. Only, he won't come to see Alexis personally, but let Chleo meet him.

That day Axel whistled happily at a cafe opposite the restaurant where Alexis was going to meet Chleo. He saw that Chleo had come and seated at one of the tables he ordered. Now it's just waiting for Alexis to come.

While waiting, one of the assistants who knew his identity as the blue king gave him a very shocking report.

He found out that Alexsei's death, which he thought was just an accident, was not what he expected. Someone intentionally killed Alexsei and made it look like a typical car accident. The main culprits were none other than Stanley Calvin and... Vincentius Regnz!?

That means… Chleora is indeed Vincent's daughter?
