In the next instant, she was forced to get into a car filled with unfamiliar scary faces. Reflexively, Chleo screamed and struggled.
She was even more terrified when a cloth was forced into her mouth and then tightened tightly, hurting the skin of her face. All the screams she made to summon Meisya mingled into a muffled sound.
Her heart grew more panicked when she felt her hands tied with ropes made her unable to move.
Tears began to flow profusely, and her sobbing increased over time. In her entire life, she had never been treated this way, and she had never felt this kind of fear.
Yes. Chleo was afraid to face her father's anger if she misbehaves. But she knew her father scolded her because he loved her. Her parents never hit her either. They gave a time-out for her if she threw a tantrum too much.
But now... why does her whole body ache? Why did these people hurt her? Why did they shout at her with words she couldn't understand?
Chleo continued to cry because she could not control her fear. Not long after, Meisya came inside and quickly hugged her. The older woman's presence made Chleo feel relieved. She thought Meisya had come to save her, but it seemed Meisya couldn't do anything either.
Meisya tightened her embrace so protectively it made Chleo feel shielded. Meisya also continued to whisper soothing words so that her sobs would subside.
Chleo knew Meisya hoped she would stop crying and be less afraid. But Chleo was not a stupid kid who doesn't know what's going on. She had been taught by her two uncles how dangerous this world if she was not careful.
That's why she knows these bad-looking guys kidnapped them... and their fate will not end well if no one saves them.
'Papa, mama... I'm scared. Help me.' Chleo kept calling out to her parents as if they could hear her voice.
She hoped her father realizes she went missing and saves her immediately.
When it felt like these people had no intention of hurting her again, Chleo's crying faded. Now only her sobs remained while her hands did not let go of their grip on Meisya's cloth. She felt she was safer holding the fabric of the older woman's clothes than having no one by her side. Chleo knew Meisya was just as helpless as her, but knowing there is an adult she knows by her side makes her calm.
Before long, they stopped at a remote area where people seldom visited. One of the kidnappers got out of the car while pulling Chleo from Meisya's side.
This shocking act made Chleo scream and cried again. She didn't know what these people planned for her, but she knew they all intended to separate her from Meisya.
Not. Chleo must not part with Meisya.
If Meisya wasn't by her side, who should she lean on? Who can calm her panic and scared heart?
Chleo saw Meisya also revolted and tried to grab her smaller hand. Unfortunately, someone hit the back of her head until the poor woman fell. Chleo cried even more and could not bear to see these people harmed this good, kind-hearted woman.
"Don't hit her!" She kept repeatedly screaming, hoping someone would understand her words. However, her mouth was still tied with a cloth so that no one could understand what she was shouting. All they heard was the typical outcry of a child screaming hysterically.
In the end, Chleo was utterly helpless when she was led into another car and drove away. Her sobs became more and more intense that now she was completely alone.
No one could save her. She would not be able to see her family again after this.
The poor little girl began to feel discomfort in her chest from crying too much. She had hardly cried before, and this was the first time she had cried with extreme panic.
Suddenly, she heard her captors' confused voices and spoke in a foreign language she didn't know.
It can't be helped. Chleo was born in New York City, America, but on vacation to Europe in the name 'visited' her dearest uncle. That's why she couldn't understand what her captors were talking about.
It didn't take long before the car swayed and uncontrollably made the scared little girl's heart tremble even more because of the intense fear she felt.
If she knew this would happen, she would prefer to go with her father to Russia rather than live in Germany with her two favorite uncles.
In the next instant, the car crashed into a tree violently, making her small head hit the front seat quite hard. The poor little girl felt dizzy, but she did notice someone behind the tree they hit.
Strangely, she could see there was like fog behind the person, but she couldn't see it the next second because she was now unconscious.
"Damn it! How did we get here? Shouldn't we be on the big road?"
"How should I know? When I turned the corner, we were already in the middle of the forest."
"Impossible! How is it possible that we moved places just because we turned a corner?"
The kidnappers started arguing and blaming each other. In the end, they decided to go on foot while looking for a vehicle they could steal. They could not use this car, given the severe damage due to the impact.
"Hey, we have a guest." one of them noticed the presence of a stranger strolling towards them.
They all got out of the car, pulling out knives to threaten the mysterious person who emerged from the thick white mist.
What's with that fog? And why did the temperature suddenly drop so much? They wondered in their mind but did not lower their threatening aura.
