As soon as Max arrived at his mansion, he directly vid-call Chleo. In just two rings, Chleo's face came into view, and her sweet melodious voice was heard.
"Max! Where have you been? Why not reply to my texts or pick up my call?"
Max smiled guiltily. "Sorry, I'm on a business trip, and it was hard to get a good signal. How's your holiday? Is it fun?"
Max managed to divert their conversation and listen to all the stories from his lover with great attention.
"So when are you going back to Seattle?"
"Three days later."
"Okay, Dex and I will pick you up this time."
Chleo chuckled as she remembered she and Evie picked up Dietrich and Max two months ago at the airport. Now the two men would pick them up.
But her joy vanished as soon as she remembered something.
"Max, I have a secret to tell you. I'll let you know when I get back to Seattle."
"Oh? Okay."
