Chapter 3 - My System Sucks!

-CHARACTER PROFILE UPDATED-

"What the heck just happened... updated, does that mean something."

Seeing those words on her system, Yei reopens back her character profile to see what was updated. She then notices that there's a distinctive skill section added to her stats profile. She also saw that there were three skills added to that section.

*Distinctive Skill*

-Stats Scaling

-EXP Share

-EXP Boost

"I guess I was wrong, that gift does give me something."

Two out of the three skills that were added, only two of them Yei could understand what it uses for. The stats scaling, on the other hand, Yei hadn't the slightest idea at all what it does. The system doesn't provide a description of what the skill does, so Yei figured that the only way to know was it do was to test it herself.

But before Yei does that, she has other things to do. That was opening the remaining gifts to see what it would give Yei. She was hoping for another skill that would make her powerful. As Yei begins to believe that she was the chosen one.

The second chest turns out to be only containing a weapon which drops into the ground as the chest disappears. Yei picked it up and saw that the weapon she was given was a dagger. A dagger made out of silver with a few blue gems on the bottom of its hilt and on the dagger.

Yei thought that by holding the dagger, it would somehow unlock a skill but no... Nothing happens at all. That makes her a little bit disappointed but she was fine with it. As it was a weapon, something that Yei could use if a monster suddenly jumped towards her.

She tried to identify the dagger using the system but no matter what she tried to say. There was no description pop up like Yei thought it would be. With that, she concludes that the system doesn't provide her a feature to view an item description.

As Yei wanted to see whether the dagger that she had received was something good in terms of damage. Also what sort of enchantment it had. Yei did try to put it back to the inventory as she notices that the inventory does provide a description.

But sadly, the inventory refuses to store the dagger. Every time Yei tried to do that, it just dropped the dagger on the ground. Yei then completely give up on the idea of knowing what sort of dagger she received anymore.

"Well, that sucks... I thought it would be a game-like system." She let out a sigh.

So there was only one chest left in Yei's inventory, which she quickly opened. Like the previous chest, it appears and then disappears immediately while dropping some items. Yei then approaches those items...

"Don't expect these but I do need it, can't move around freely if I'm naked."

The final item Yei got was full midriff clothing, along with a weapon holster as well. Yet another disappointment as it doesn't have an auto-equip feature as well. Yei had to put on the cloth herself and place the dagger on the holster.

"What a bummer, this feels like a real-life simulation... the difference was I had a system that basically does nothing special. But I guess I should start exploring now as I already had a cloth on, let's see if this world could somehow heal my disappointment that I have."

With that, Yei begins to walk around the field of wildflower. As Yei intend to get out of the area, trying to see whether she could find anybody here to ask where actually she was. Because she still isn't able to figure out if she was really transmigrated into Chronicle Legacy as the area seems different from the game.

She had been playing this game for almost three years since its launch. That makes Yei a little bit expert about the area of the game. That's why when she saw the area for the first time, Yei was able to tell that the area she was in right now wasn't part of the game at all.

...

After walking around for a few minutes, Yei still wasn't able to get out of the area. She feels like the field of wildflower was pretty massive and trying to get out would seem to be impossible.

"Why does my system don't have a map feature? How easy would it be for me if the system somehow provided me with that?"

Suddenly, Yei heard a sound...

"Help! Anybody! ..." A female voice screaming for help.

That sound was really faint as it looked like it was far away from here. Thus making Yei difficult to know where the sound came from. As it was a cry for help, Yei focused her mind and was able to locate the sound.

"It was coming from my right."

Without any hesitation, Yei ran towards the direction hoping that the person that shouted for help was still fine. Yei realizes that she was on the right path as the sound was becoming more clear every time she moved forward.

When Yei finally near the place where she heard the scream, she indeed saw a young woman with short white hair cowering in fear as there are a few wolves surround her. Yei also notices that the young woman's arm was bleeding.

Yei wanted to jump and help her but she immediately realized something. she can't fight. She was aware that she was a level 1 character and there's no way she thinks that she could defeat the wolves. As Yei knew that the wolves were probably level 3 or above and what worse was there are not only one of them here but three.

"Am I really going to turn a blind eye to this situation?" Yei said within herself.

As the fear consumed Yei the more she thought about it, she decided to leave but...

"Help! Anyone, I don't want to die..." The young woman started to cry.

Hearing that, Yei mustered all of her courage and took her dagger thus lunging towards one of the wolves. Yei successfully killed one of the wolves as it doesn't notice Yei at all.

But now, the other wolves had their eyes on Yei.
