To be certain that this little girl was indeed the owner of this shop. I ask the question again to which she replies that she is indeed Matsuri, one of the shop owners. It was still very hard for me to believe this was happening but I doubt that she's lying to me.
"Okay then, I heard that this shop could do custom ordered clothes... Am I in the right shop for that?"
"Hmmph!"
Eh!? What happened here... does that mean Matsuri is mad with me? But that reaction and her facial expression could only mean that thing, that she's indeed a bit mad towards me.
Well, I suppose that might be it, as I kept denying the fact she's the shop owner and also called her as a kid numerous times. So no wonder Matsuri refuses to talk with me right now.
But when I think about it, only children sulk like this... Adults often do that.
"Hey! I am sorry... I'm quite new to this town so I don't know the people here yet. I am deeply sorry for mistaking you as a kid before."
Despite that, Matsuri was still sulking about the incident earlier.
'Such a hassle...'
When I was about to try and apologize once again to Matsuri, I heard the sound of the shop door being opened up. At first, I thought it was Elina as surely she would already be done helping the young boy from earlier... with Elina here, for sure she could help me persuade Matsuri to forgive me.
But it wasn't Elina at all... It was a different person.
A fairly tall lady, a bit taller than me. She also had a beret on her head... but the one that grabbed my attention was the bow behind her back. For sure that this lady was an adventurer as only adventurers were allowed to keep their weapon revealed like that unless you're a guard or a knight.
Even my special dagger had to be put inside my pouch or else I would get arrested by the town guards.
The tall lady then notices me standing here and thus she quickly approaches me... as she says something that surprises me.
"Are you here to buy some clothes or to have your clothes tailor?" She said that.
"Kazuki! Ignore this girl... she's being rude to me, calling me a child!" Matsuri said that.
Hearing that made me realize that the tall lady here was Kazuki... one of the shop owners. But I really don't expect that. As I thought it would be someone that had the same size as the girl called Matsuri.
"But big sister... we haven't had any customers for a few months already, I don't think we could keep the shop open if this keeps going..."
What!? These two girls here are siblings... There's no way that's possible. One is far too short and one is quite tall, but what was shocking was the little one was actually the big sister. Really!?
But when I took a closer look upon their facial features, it does resemble each other pretty well. So with that, the doubt of them not being a sibling is gone from my head.
"Suit yourself then..." With that Matsuri walks away from there and watches us over the front counter.
"I apologized for my sister behavior, she rarely treats-"
"No... No! I am the one that should be saying that, if I don't call your big sister a child... she wouldn't be mad at me."
"Still, she shouldn't be treating customers like that... so that's why I apologize to you." Kazuki paused for a bit, "Oh! I forgot I am Kazuki, one of the shop owners."
"I'm Yei..."
"So Yei? What brought you here today, are you looking to buy some clothes or-"
"I just want to have my clothes tailor... that's all," I said towards Kazuki.
"I see, then you have come to the right shop. What kind of clothes do you want us to make?"
"Something similar to the ones that I am wearing right now, but if you can't do that... I just want some clothes that would be easy to move around while in combat."
"Oh! Are you an adventurer by any chance?"
"Not yet, I am planning to take the exam tomorrow..." I said that towards Kazuki.
"I do not want to bring your spirit down, but the adventurer exam is quite hard nowadays... A lot had failed at the end of the exam as they needed to fight someone that's rather strong."
"Fight someone? I thought the exam would just need us to pass some physical test and-"
"That's the old ones... The adventurer guild had improved the exam by adding the requirement of fighting the top adventurer in this town. That's why anyone was barely able to pass the exam... so it's better to train a bit more, at least hit level 30 before taking the exam."
Listening to all of that does make me rethink my decision on either taking the exam tomorrow. Because I am currently on level 21... I doubt that I would be able to take on someone that on level 30, surely they had a lot of skills and experience in combat.
I took the exam and tried my luck. But when I think about it for a while, I do not wish to risk losing my money. As I doubt I would be able to get 50 gold coins that easily. For sure that it would take considerably a lot of time on getting that kind of money again.
"But judging from your looks, I think you're quite strong already... So I don't think the top adventurers would prove to be a problem." Kazuki said that towards me.
Well, that's weird, people always said that I was looking rather weak. Does Kazuki want to give me some encouragement?
"What are you guys talking about! This isn't an advice shop... this is a tailor shop!" Matsuri said that as she heard everything about our conversation.
