Chapter 50 - Chatter

With a very serious look on her face, she asks me.

"How did you become that strong? And if you're traveler... would you mind signing up as an acolyte-"

"Mother!" Elina cut in immediately. "My friend here isn't interested in becoming an acolyte, she had her own ambition."

"Why are you covering up for her Elina? It's rude to speak on behalf of other people without their consent at all." Elina's mother then looks straight at me, as if she is waiting for my answer.

"Elina is right, I do not wish to become an acolyte at all as I wish to open my own shop here after I obtain my citizenship."

"I see, that's a shame indeed. As a strong people like you would surely be a good thing for Auslosha Faith." Elina's mother then paused, "Would you mind answering my original question..."

Her original question? Does she have to ask anything else- I then remember, Elina's mother indeed asked me how I became strong in the first place.

I really hadn't any answer for that as I didn't even reach level 60 yet. For my power... I also couldn't explain how I got all of that. As I'm sure it would cause a lot of unwanted attention and for sure there would be some issue with that.

As I could confidently say that my power does come from God itself. God is the one that sends me those gifts of power the moment I transmigrated into this fantasy world.

"Well, I suppose the answer is training... that's how I have gotten a lot stronger and able to reach level 60."

I reply with the most cliche answer that I could think of. As that answer would be the safest answer that wouldn't lead to any more unwanted questions from Elina's mother.

"It must be really tough training for you to be able to achieve level 60 at such a young age... how old are you actually?" Elina's mother asks me.

The moment I heard that question, I myself began to wonder how old I am supposed to be. My stats don't even display my age but that's normal after all, in the game... Age wouldn't matter at all, what matters is the high stats of your character.

But how do I answer that question as I basically did not know what my age was? I do have seen myself in a mirror before and I do look quite young but was my age really around my twenties? I feel like I am way younger than that... I think I might be 18 or 19 years old.

I have been thinking way too long on this matter... I should say something as Elina's mother is probably waiting for my answer already.

After giving much thought to this, I said that I am 19 years old to them but will be 20 next month.

Both of them were quite surprised after I said it. Well, that should be expected as they might think my age to be around the mid-twenties just like Elina was.

But maybe I did overdone it after all... as I might not be looking that young at all. Somehow that makes me start to worry about the thing about my age, whether they would believe it or not.

"Yei? You're 19..." Elina said that towards me.

From her facial expression alone I know that she's surprised by it. Her mother on the other hand does react the same but managed to recompose herself into her calm demeanor like usual.

"Well, your friend here's looking fairly younger than you, Elina." Elina's mother said as she then continued, "That's enough of the chatter, for now, I think you should prepare dinner already."

"You're right mother, I almost forgot about that." Elina then looks at me, "I'll be leaving you with my mother, I will call you after I have finished cooking."

With that, Elina went ahead to the kitchen while Elina's mother and I went into the living room instead. I think there would be a lot of things that her mother wanted to ask me... That's for sure so I couldn't avoid any conversation at all but I guess that's fine.

As I do need to ask Elina's mother about the Auslosha Faith. What it was and who's the God Auslosha... I need to learn about that to know about this world a bit more.

When we both had sat down on the couch in the living room, Elina's mother started the conversation right away.

"I think I haven't introduced myself yet if I remember correctly..." Elina's mother said.

I simply nodded as I didn't know what to say.

With that, she's started to introduce herself. "You probably had known what is my job is from Elina, so I will cut that part out"

From that, I learned that Elina's mother's name was Sania Ineris.

"What should I call you? High priest or-"

"Hmm... You could just call Sania." Elina's mother said that towards me.

"Isn't it a bit weird to call out your name like that, as you're a high priest after all? Someone that had a title and an important job in this town." I said that.

"That's fine, most of the townsfolk also called me Sania..." Elina's mother paused for a bit and said, "We are all equal. So we should address everyone the same."

Well, it might not be that case if you're meeting the king or someone that is pretty high ranked... I doubt you could just casually said that name just like that, as doing that would surely be stupid. Everyone knows that doing that sort of thing would just get you into deep trouble.

So not everyone is equal even though we're just human... as there's a status difference in this world and even my old world works the same way.

But if Elina's mother does want to be called that, I suppose there's no problem with that as this is what she wanted.
