About thirty minutes later...
Miya came back to check on me after she had finished scouting the area around for any monster.
If only I could tell her that there's no monster as if there's one, my system could easily detect it. But I can't afford to let Miya know about this as I'm sure she would get curious and ask me a lot of questions about it.
It would become a hassle so it's better that I keep this system thing for myself. Even in the light novel that I had read, the MC never revealed it to anyone so I guess I should follow it as well.
"Are you feeling a little bit better now, Yei?"
"Don't know, I feel just the same as before..."
"How about you try to stand up now if you still feel dizzy. I suppose you needed more rest then if that's the case."
"Well, please grab me if I somehow fall like before."
"No problem..."
Slowly, I stand on my two feet as I then walk around in a circle trying to see whether the effect had finally gone.
For around two minutes... I feel like there's no problem with me at all. The dizziness and the fatigue that I had experienced before also had gone. So with that, I give a thumbs up to Miya.
"I'm glad that you're fine now, still don't push yourself too hard now. As your stamina might easily run out."
"You know what--" with a playful smile on my face, "You seems to care about me, do you-"
Miya immediately cut in before I could even say the word.
"Of course not! We're friends, aren't we?... So it's only natural for me to care about you plus you saved me from the Rozett parasite... putting your life in danger just to do that." She paused for a while, "I really wanted to repay you for the action you did."
When I recalled back. My intention wasn't saving Miya at all. The actual cause was actually just to kill the Rozett as I don't really like to look at that thing at all. It's just too weird.
"I see if that is the case. Would you mind if we go and take the Flower Of Eve then?" I said that to Miya.
"Sure. Let's go and pick it up then as it's pretty far away from here."
"Wait a minute? Isn't you said that it was around this area..." I said that as I'm pretty sure that Miya had told me that this was the place where she spotted the Flower of Eve.
"Do you forget that I have been controlled by the Rozett before? All of that information regarding the flower was fake, as it was only to lure you here and to control you as well."
"So where actually is the Flower of Eve then?"
"As I said before, it was far from the location we're at right now. It's located in the middle of the field which we're currently near the end of the field at the moment."
"What!?" I was so surprised to know that. "But how could you know that we're at the end of the field... Is there any way to know that?"
"Quite easy actually, if we're somehow decided to continue down this route. We will notice that there's quite a lot of trees in our surroundings as that indicates that we're about to enter the forest."
"I see... but you still don't answer how you could be sure that this is the end of the field."
"Oh! It's because I used this route before, as I came from the forest area actually."
I wanted to ask Miya the reason why she was in the forest but I decided not to do that. As the sun is already setting down, we should get moving right now.
"I see... should we go now?"
Miya nods her head as we both walk towards our destination. That was to be at the middle area of the field, as that's where the Flower Of Eve sprouted.
....
Time passes as we're still on our way but it seems like we're not going to get there today. It was already nighttime and Miya warned me that proceeding any further would be dangerous. Because in her report, there seems to be a beast inside the field of wildflowers that's quite active in hunting down people or monsters in this area.
I was a little curious about the beast that Miya mentioned. So with that, I agree with her to take a rest for the day. That way, I could ask her about it.
We look for a perfect spot to camp out. After finding one, Miya then went to look for some branches to make some fire. I on the other hand had been left alone as Miya advised me to rest as she was afraid that all of the walks had made my stamina depleted.
I tried to reason with her saying that I have plenty more to spare, but she didn't listen and insisted that I stay here. As I'm too lazy to argue with her, I just follow what she says...
So with the time to spare, I began to fiddle with my system a bit but I found that there's nothing much I could do. Then I decided to think about the beast that Miya mentioned before.
If memory serves me well, there's a category of creatures that are hostile towards all kinds of things... even its own kin. But of course, there's one that the beast would not harm, that was its own master. It was called the beast companion...
Yet that thing was removed in the game as people disliked the idea... because the only way to obtain the beast companion was by buying it. I think it was around 20$ like that, it was ridiculous to charge that amount of money and I am glad they removed it.
As Chronicle Legacy was not a pay-to-win game...
