The barracks seem to hold no semblance of luxury now that a Raksha was found inside.
Many decide to sleep outside, including me.
My sleep comes in the form of meditation, with my back leaning against the barracks walls.
I hear footsteps approaching near the end of the night.
Opening my eyes I find Jana with a soft smile on her lips.
"You're not like most mages" she points out.
"How is that"? I ask.
"They usually don't swear, have a stick up their ass and walk around like they own everything... because usually, they do" Strands of red hair fall over her face as she sits down beside me.
"Thanks... I think".
"You're welcome" she giggles.
"You did the right thing putting Lowman in his place".
"Is that a popular name"? I ask.
"What... Lowman"? I nod and she chuckles.
"Yes, those who built structures after the manaless age were given the name Lowman," she says.
