"What is it"? Sloan asks Lissie.
"Blood... blood all over the ground" Lissie replies with a pale face.
I get up and continue walking up the steps like nothing ever happened.
When I reach the archway I see a bunch of wriggling red slime slowly inching towards the opposite side.
I stand and watch them, they are fully committed to getting to the other side and up the stairs.
I am joined by Sloan who doesn't seem surprised.
"You don't look surprised," she says.
"This is my shocked face," I tell her blandly and continue walking, making sure to step around the slime.
Lissie is behind Sloan, she is disgusted but doesn't want to be left behind with all of these slimes.
Different floating letters surround us as the energy thickens.
Once we pass the fifteenth floor and are halfway up the next flight of stairs we pass another wave of slime.
"Do you know what they are"? I ask Sloan who is walking closely behind me.
