Chapter 1 - Arrival

'Hmm ... there are still ten minutes left before class starts ...' Azel was walking through the hallways of the university, while he checked his class schedule on his cell phone.

'' Bzzznn ''

Suddenly, he hears a slight hum, like the sound that is produced by the high voltage in the supply cables. At the same time, he could see a flash of blue light coming from the university library. Since he was curious and there was still time for his class to begin, he entered the library and walked to the bookshelves where he saw the light.

When he reached the end of the shelves, he found nothing but the usual books with fine dust on them. Azel frowned in bewilderment and put it down to his imagination. He turned to go back on his way when suddenly something hit him on the head and before he could see what it was all about, his vision darkened. He had passed out.

But the weird didn't end here. Anyone would think that, in a university library, that flash of light must have been perceived by other people, but there was not the slightest trace of bewilderment on their faces, as if nothing had happened in the place from the beginning. Likewise, no one noticed young Azel disappearing from the place.

.......................... ......................

In an arid, seemingly deserted area, the sky was black and gray, with just a few perceptible flashes of light. The place was a valley, surrounded by large stone mounds, all of them gray or black. The wind blew strong, bringing with it to the calm and silence of the place a dark and hostile atmosphere.

"Ugh ..". Azel growled hoarsely, as his eyelids began to tremble before he opened his eyes. He found himself lying on the sandy ground, while his head ached as if he had just hit her hard.

"Wait ... where am I?" Trying to regain consciousness, he began to remember the last thing that happened.

'' Uhgrahhhgrrr ...! ''

Suddenly, a loud roar was heard in the vicinity of where he was. This roar was deep and grave, it was not one produced by an animal that he recognized, rather, it sounded like the roar of a fictional beast produced in a science fiction movie about prehistoric animals.

Scared by the sudden occurrence, Azel got up from the ground before running off to the opposite side. After about ten seconds of nonstop running as fast as he could, he looked back, when his face lost color and paled at the sight of a giant beast some twenty feet tall and thirty feet long. The beast bore a resemblance to the lizard, with black and purple scales, claws with a metallic sheen, and massive, sharp teeth. Azel did not doubt for a moment the ability of these to reduce a rock to dust. The black lizard was running towards him at a speed greater than his, quickly reducing the distance between them to only fifty meters.

''Curse!''. Scared by the possibility of being eaten by the beast, Azel ran as fast as he could and after a few steps he saw a crack in the ground ten meters from where he was, with enough room for a single person to enter. In his frenzy, Azel was still able to think about his chances of escaping the black lizard if he continued to run by observing the nearby environment he found himself in, when he determined that he could not escape if he continued running like that. Without further hesitation, he jumped into the hole in the ground and dived for about 10 meters before finally stopping and falling to the ground tired.

'' Brrrrmm ''. The earth shook with the lizard's ruckus, dust and stones fell through the crevasse but still, the lizard couldn't reach Azel from where he stood.

The uproar outside didn't subside for about ten minutes. 'What the hell was that!?'. He still had a headache, but he forced himself to calm down, keep his emotions in check, and verify the situation he was in. He looked at his body for injuries and let out a relieved sigh as he had no serious injuries, just a few scratches from the abrupt slip when entering the rift.

'Where I am?'. Azel began to wonder, when his mind suddenly went blank and the next second, he was dumbfounded.

'Desolate plains?' An avalanche of memories assaulted his mind, causing him to doubt his identity, as if the human Azel was just a dream or illusion he had, until he heard the same hum from the library and a flash of blue illuminated his eyes. He calmed down and concentrated immediately, the pain gone, leaving all the information ordered and processed with him, as if he had always known. Azel recovered from the shock and analyzed his current situation.

'I thought these things only happened in fiction, but who would have thought that one day I would be in the same situation. I thought I had been transported but I was wrong .. it is my memories, thoughts and emotions that reached this plane, but this is not my body. I had not realized it because it is the same as mine in appearance. Hmm ... I suppose this would be my body in this plane and the Azel of this body, he had lost his life in this place by falling from those stone pillars and hitting his head. Now that I realize it, my clothes are strange, they are dirty and old. I guess this is the norm in this place. There is also that strange feeling that I had a moment ago, it was very comfortable, it helped me calm down and concentrate in an instant ... I'm sure it has to do with the blue glow that I saw at that moment. ' Azel thought seriously, then got up from his place and looked deep into the cave where he stood.

'There is light'. He was convinced to move deeper after deliberating for a few moments. After two minutes of walking, he came to a pool of water where he found the source of light. The waters of the pond illuminated the place with a dim light, and in the center of the pond, there was a flower. The flower was beautiful, blue and white, similar to a lotus and in its center, there was a ball that gave off an intense light. Azel was sure it was the source of light that he saw from afar.

Azel searched around him for hostile strange creatures, but he found nothing. He was very thirsty after what happened, so he went to the pond and started to drink the water. When he touched it, he was surprised, as he did not feel the water, instead, a pleasant sensation spread through his hand that urged him to dive further. His mind suddenly conceived a strange but familiar word. 'Liquid mana?' Azel was once again dumbfounded, but this time, he reacted with extreme joy in the next second, laughing out loud. According to the newly acquired memories of him, in this world there was manna, energy that was found everywhere in nature and living beings. The important thing about this is that the mana in the memories of him was the source of energy with which the strange phenomena of the memories of him were produced that he associated with what on earth they would call magic. This was not enough to lead him to a burst of happiness, but the fact that liquid manna should not exist, as it is an unstable energy that always transforms into the phenomena of his memories, such as tornadoes, rain, fire from the sky, chaotic lightning and the powers of wild beasts. Since the mana turned to liquid and was left in a calm state, it must be for a reason. This discovery was what made him very happy.

Azel was an orphan who grew up alone, he knew that the only person who cared in his world was himself. So he worked in his days as a high school student to raise money for his university and also held his position as the best undergraduate to apply for the university scholarship, until he became an engineering student. He chose a career in engineering because he enjoyed discovering new things, inventing and innovating technology. He came to this world abruptly, went through a life-threatening chase in the next second, and saved his life only by luck. He was depressed just thinking about being in a wild and unknown world while on earth he left a race to finish, wasting all his effort. But the existence of this new type of energy filled him with curiosity and happiness.

'I must investigate.' When his thoughts began to travel in this direction, the flash of blue light in his mind appeared again and at that moment, the pool of liquid mana was drawn towards Azel. His eyes changed color, from brown to blue, sparkling like the ocean. His facial features became more accentuated, his hair lost its black color until it turned white, like snow. His body began to excrete a black putrid substance and his skin color became even whiter, but not pale and sickly, but bright and healthy.

His outward appearance became even more prominent but compared to the changes taking place inside, they were nothing. His veins expanded, the flow of his blood became turbulent, the color of which alternated between crimson and flashes of blue. His bones hardened and strange lines appeared on them, like the roots of a tree. His internal organs also became more resistant and something similar happened to the bones, but this time the patterns were different from those of the bones, they were more central lines, as if they were nodes of those roots in the bones.

The changes that occurred occurred in minutes, but in this time, Azel was immersed in his consciousness, in an independent space within him. There was a one-square-meter cube floating and spinning slowly, giving off blue light with white runes on all its faces. Spinning around him was the liquid mana that he saw in the pool, in addition to the lotus that was in the center of the pool. Although he clearly saw what was happening, he could not move in this space, remaining as a spectator until his consciousness left this space.

Azel opened his eyes and could see that he was in the cave once more, but this time, there was no longer the pool of liquid mana and the lotus that was on the water. 'I guess the pond wasn't that deep, only about six feet ... wait, can I still see?' As the liquid mana pool and the lotus were absorbed, the cave went dark, but he could still see the entire cave, what's more, he perceived it even clearer than before, the dimensions to which it extended, its general shape, everything. it was in his mind, like a mock-up or computer-aided design. He looked down at himself and found smelly black dirt on his body, and also saw the changes that had just occurred to him.

'Was it the cube?' He was intrigued by the exact reason for the changes in his body, but he knew that there would be no use thinking about it right now because, despite having the memories of the Azel of this world, he still knew very little about him as He was also an orphan, without any apparent education or important knowledge about the ways of this world. He made up his mind to get out of the cave first and decide his next move by judging the situation outside.

As he was about to emerge from the rift, he heard footsteps outside as well as voices which he identified as people. He paused for a moment and looked cautiously outside. He identified four people who carried spears, bows, and blades, probably beast hunters. He hesitated for a moment but finally decided to go out and talk to them.
