Imogen saw something that attracted her attention, a silver leaf in a tree to be specific.
"Somehow I feel like that leaf is calling my name, It's like I feel some sort of power radiating off of it." Said Imogen, a bit mind boggled.
"Lets face it, the moment I saw that leaf I was going to get it; no matter what." Joked Imogen.
"If nothing else, I would get it just because I have nothing better to do." Stated Imogen obviously. Imogen then ran into the tree as hard as she could to see if the leaf would drop.
"I should've known that it wouldn't have worked, I'm not that strong yet." Said Imogen, feeling like the tree was watching her.
"I guess I'll just have to do it the painful way, I should call it the climb of pain two." Said Imogen, already feeling the pain.
"Why are all the trees in this stupid forest about nineteen meters tall, trees don't need to be that tall." Complained Imogen.
"With my new stats I should be able to get up there in about two hours, give or take." Then Imogen, without hesitation started the climb to the silver leaf.
~~~
The silver leaf moved in the wind just like any other leaf, the only difference was that it's silver. Well that was the only difference until Imogen ripped it off, disturbing the whole tree in the process.
All of a sudden one of the tree's bigger branches reached up and tried to grab Imogen, to Imogen it felt like a fire sparking to life. Imogen jumped down trying to escape, but was caught by a lower branch.
The branch slammed her into another thicker branch and that branch tried crunching her. Afterwards, another branch crunched down on her so hard, it snapped in half and Imogen dropped down once again.
Imogen had already dropped the silver leaf at this point, it was because she was trying her best to survive in these harsh conditions. Then a really long branch stretched out and caught Imogen before she could hit the ground, it flipped her up into the air and smacked her into another branch.
That branch proceeded to do the same and this pattern followed until Imogen came to the center of the tree, a face like structure appeared; then it opened it's wooden mouth.
"I always seem to find myself in these situations, don't I?" Laughed Imogen as she hooked onto the branch.
The tree creature then tried to throw Imogen into its mouth, but couldn't because Imogen was stuck to its own branch. The tree then tried to shake off Imogen out of habit, but Imogen let go and flew into the ground far away from the tree creature.
"Too bad I couldn't kill that tree, it probably would've gotten me close to another level up." Said Imogen looking around.
"Now I need to go find that silver leaf, sadly it's probably close to that weird tree creature." Said Imogen regretting dropping the leaf.
~~~
Imogen spent the next half hour just looking for the tree creature and she was already loathing the silver leaf.
"Why the hell did I have to grab that dumb leaf, now I have to boringly look for a leaf the whole year." Exaggerated Imogen.
"The silver leaf probably isn't even useful to me, but I have to find it now because I put some effort into it already." Complained Imogen.
"I don't know why, but I feel strangely angry at the moment; even for me." Questioned Imogen.
"That stupid tree must've done something to me, I hate trees." Grumbled Imogen angrily.
"I guess I should start looking for that dumb leaf now." Said Imogen, staring bullets into the tree trunk.
~~~
"I've been looking for about two hours now so here's the question, where the hell is that dumb leaf." Growled Imogen, wishing she could yell.
"Life just isn't fair, while others get to do fun stuff like hunt giant monsters guess what I get to hunt; a godforsaken leaf!" Said Imogen, feelingling outraged.
"And a stupid one at that, you'd think that finding a silver leaf among red ones wouldn't be so hard." Growled Imogen doing some strange gestures.
"You know, I might as well just point in a random direction and hope it's a silver leaf. Said Imogen pointing to a silver leaf.
"But actually life isn't like that, it'll screw you over at every turn." Said Imogen almost done with her rant.
"I give up, this has taken away too much of my important time." Said Imogen, giving up and walking right over the silver leaf.
Imogen felt a sigh coming on, but before such could happen, she looked up only to be smashed into the ground by the tree. Somehow though, the spot where Imogen once was, was empty save for air.
"I feel like someone threw a slab of steel at my back, it hurts so god darned much." Said Imogen, sounding like she's at death's door already.
"What the hell did I hit, am I in a really old bunker or something?"
Imogen looked down only to see her lifelong enemy, but she couldn't even think about it before the tree slammed her into it again.
"That hurt even more than the first time, at least I got my face slammed into it this time." Joked Imogen in a sarcastic tone, today she was feeling a bit humorous.
Imogen quickly grabbed the leaf and ran far away from the tree, before it could slam her into the leaf again.
"That leaf probably used it's magical powers to annoy me and ran out of them as soon as I got hit by the tree, that's the only logical possibility I see." Realized Imogen.
"Actually I think it's because of that skill that increases my luck or something, I forgot what it's called." Said Imogen, starting to feel tired.
"This leaf is making me feel all weird, first it was anger and now it's drowsiness." Yawned Imogen, her legs going limp.
"I can't even talk straight." Said Imogen, almost falling to sleep. Then the feeling of drowsiness was gone in an instant.
"System, analyze this leaf please."
"Great, now what do I do with this leaf?" Complained Imogen, still irritable.
"I guess I could try using Blood Drain on it after I use Weak Pierce, I refuse to have gone through so much trouble for a leaf; just to have it be useless to me." Said Imogen biting into the silver leaf.
Imogen's beak surely broke into the leaf, but didn't go through all the way. Though such novelties don't seem to matter much, perhaps it was better this way.
In an instant, the leaf shrivels and turns into dust. "That was by far the best thing I have ever tasted in both my lives." Said Imogen, feeling content.
"I don't know what else it did other than taste good, if anything" Realized Imogen.
"Well I do feel strangely content now, so I think I'm going to lie down-" Tried to say to Imogen, but she was interrupted by a system message.
*System Notice: Strength and Defence stats have increased by 1
"That's not one of the ways you can get stat points, you just broke your own rules." Grinned Imogen.
"Not going to answer me are you system, what a hypocrite." Said Imogen happily.
"I thought you were the rule maker and rule makers can't break their own rules, so what does that make you?" Questioned Imogen, trying to irk the system.
"You're nothing but the byproduct of a mistake, so I guess I can't blame a byproduct like you for messing up." Said Imogen, starting to really enjoy herself.
"You're only a lesser-" Tried to say Imogen, but was interrupted by the system once again.
"...Okay, sorry I got a bit carried away there." Apologized Imogen.
"I guess I should go look for something fun to do now, maybe I could find a golem or a fairy; that would be nice."
Imogen walked around for a while, but finally found something interesting again. It was a giant trail that looked like it was recently made, trees were knocked down without a care and a sticky substance covered the dirt.
Imogen being Imogen had to follow the trail to see where it goes, she wouldn't be Imogen if she didn't.
"This trail looks like a bigger version of that worm I hate, the worm couldn't have gotten this much bigger this fast; surely this was to be another worm." Inspected Imogen.
"Well if it is, I'm not leaving until I kill it." Decided Imogen.
"I wouldn't even be able to stand the thought of running away from it again, it would have to die." Ascertained Imogen.
Then abruptly, Imogen speeded down the path only to find the hideous face of a giant scarred wyrm.
"Is that a dragon worm or a worm dragon?" "Never mind, I need to focus on running."
The Lesser Wyrm didn't even react to the dumb pest in front of it.
"It didn't even move, what the hell; surely I'm important enough for it to at least attempt to move." Griped Imogen glaring at the Lesser Wyrm.
The Lesser Wyrm felt the glare of the small creature and was angered by it, almost immediately, the Lesser Wyrm began the chase after the pathetic bug.
