The Princess pushed the tent open as she stepped in slowly while keeping her eyes on the sleeping figure on the cushion which was on the floor.
Tears filled her eyes but it was only the ragged breathing of her mother that pulled her through.

The Princess moved towards her mother as she dropped to the floor without taking her eyes off her mother.
She was dressed in a plain white gown and her black hair was let out to spread all over the bed as it came in contrast to her pale skin.
The Princess could smell the herbs and medicine that they had used to attend to her wounds and she rested her head gently on her arm.
"Mother," she called out as tears slipped from her eyes.
"We are safe now, Mother. We are safe," she murmured as Lady Eebelle caressed her back to give her some comfort.
