"No!" Lady Precelle held the Princess's hand back.
"Princess, you can't back down now" Lady Precelle said.
"Let me go, Precelle. I can't do this, I need to leave" the Princess begged.
"No, I can not stand back and watch you do this, Princess, forgive me" Lady Precelle wass adamant.
"Precelle, let go of my hand right this minute, it's an order" the Princess gritted sternly.
"If you want to have my head chopped off then do so but before that, I must see you debut tonight" Lady Precelle insisted.
The Princess was now starting to get angry with the Senior Lady. Who does she think of herself to stop her?
The Princess thought.
"Eighteen years, eighteen whole years of me raising you. I taught you how to walk like a lady, I taught how to act accordingly to the events, I made sure you knew everything it took to be a Queen. Although I didn't give birth to you, you are my whole life and you're just like a daughter to me. I sacrificed so much so that you would be perfect" Lady Precelle got emotional that tears were about to fall from her eyes.
The Princess looked away from the Lady's sentimental eyes.
"All I did was to prepare you for this day! The day you would stand in front of the entire empire and show them who you are, a true heir to the throne. Now you tell me you're not ready? You say you want to back down? I apologize, Your Highness but I won't let you do that" Lady Precelle said.
"But, Precelle. I'm scared, what-what if they won't like me? Or I fall down on my face? Or I make a big mistake. I-I can't, please let me go" the Princess voiced her worries.
"You say they won't like you? What is there not to like about you? You have the most beautiful face in the empire and your grace is like one of a Goddess. And mistakes are not for someone as flawless as you" Lady Precelle encouraged.
"Precelle"
"You are the daughter of the great warrior, Terre Reyrell. Your father is one of the bravest man and you say you are scared? Princess, if you don't want to do this for me then think of your parents, think of how devastated they would be. Do you want to disappoint them?" Lady Precelle tilted her hand because she knew she hit the nail on the head.
Taking care of the Princess for more than a decade made her know her like she knew the lines on her palm. If it is the one thing the Princess would never do, that would be disappointing her family because she knew what her good conduct meant to her parents.
Lady Preclle held a victorious grin when she saw the Princess's expression changing into one of understanding.
"You're right, I can't do this to Mother and Father" the Princess sighed.
Lady Precelle let out a breath of relief and held her hand with a smile.
"Yes, my Princess. Don't worry, I know you will do well" She motivated.
"Thank you, Precelle. As always, you know how to set my head straight" the Princess smiled.
"It's my job"
The Princess gave the go ahead to the guards so they would announce her presence.
"Attention! Attention, Vampires of Urankia, the daughter of the great Emperor, Terre Reminle Reyrell, Crown Princess Divale Terre of Urankia, is entering the hall" the guard announced loudly.
Both guards held the knob of the double doors and simultaneously, they opened the door and the spotlight fell on the Princess who had her head beld high.
The royal hall was a piece of architecture that could not be found anywhere else except for Urankia.
The octagon shaped ceiling was the real wonder of the hall as it was decorated with the finest marbles that shone when the lights were turned on.
The large hall was build to fit in at least two thousands people and more and it expanse extended all the way to the luxurious dais which was placed at the end of the hall.
Large windows were set to make the hall have an exuberant atmosphere as the light wind blew the white and golden knitted curtains.
Today, all the fifty-five kingdoms that made up the empire were present to witness this event. Royalty, officials, Masters and Mistresses were all in this hall.
And as soon as the door was open, all eyes were set on the cynosure which was Princess Divale.
The hall fell into a hush.
Her skin glinted underneath the lights as she placed her first step into hall and onto the runner which led to the dais.
As the Princess walked further in, the lessons that she had been receiving from Lady Precelle all came rushing into her head and it was as though, she was prepared for this moment.
Suck your stomach in,
Raise your chin high and eyes forward,
Look at your people ever so often with a welcoming face,
Don't smile excessively but don't frown either,
Wave your hand a little when you see a familiar face,
Make sure you spit confidence in every step you take,
Show them who is the boss,
And remember, no one is above you,
They are all your underlings.
The Princess reached the elevated platform which was placed for her and with the help of a guard, she climbed the stairs elegantly.
She sat down on the chair which was made of pure gold and elegantly placed her hand on the side. Her dress was arranged by Lady Precelle who stood by her side.
As the Princess stared at her people from the dais, a smug smirk fell on her lips.
~They're all below me~
She thought pompously.
She looked up at the gallery in which her parents and her brothers were seated at.
She bowed respectfully to the King, her father and to the Queen, her mother. When she saw her brothers, she smiled and gave them a nod.
She could feel them all looking down at her with pride and she was happy to see that.
A glass was clinked from the stage and the conductor of the event, came up.
"Allow me to formally welcome you all to the debutante of our Princess Divale. We will start by lighting up the flame of blood and continue with the sacred rituals"
A knife and a golden platter was brought by a guard and given to Lady Precelle who kneeled down to take the Princess's wrist.
Then the knife was used to cut her flesh open to let her blood flow down to the platter.
The Princess let out a slight wince as she felt her skin open, then as her nose got the smell of blood, her eyes instantly turned into a deep shade of red as her fangs came out.
The crowd let out a round of applause.
That meant the Princess was fully eligible to debut.
It was ritual to check if the vampire that had reached the age of eighteen had the full abilities of a vampire.
Her blood was taken and poured on a flame which blazed as it tasted blood.
Another round of applause was heard in the hall.
Series of rituals and customs were taken to prove the Princess's eligibility and also to honor the ancestors.
"As per the laws and legislations of Urankia, a royal blood can only be given the title when he or she have passed the rituals" the conductor said.
"And according to the results, the Princess have proven herself to be eligible and thereby, she can be officially crowned the status of the Crown Princess of Urankia"
The crowd clapped the joyful news and the Princess smiled at the announcement.
The Emperor and Empeess were brought down to the dais.
"Father" the Princess got up and bowed.
"My Princess, you have proven yourself worthy and made us proud" King Terre smiled.
The King had a youthful face for a vampire almost at the age of two centuries. His black hair was far from bald and it was smoothened to the side.
He had a muscled stature and broad shoulders which displayed his efforts for keeping his body healthy and young.
Today, his green eyes were shining with pride for his daughter.
"I have waited for this day my whole life and you didn't disappoint me by a bit" the King puffed his chest in fulfillment.
He then turned towards his people as the cushion in which the glamorous crown was placed.
The crown had six pointed mouth in which a diamond shape was positioned upon. Rubies and sapphires were used to embellish it and a huge stone of diamond was at the center of the golden beauty.
"I, the Emperor of Urankia, King Teree of the Reyrell clan, am proud and honored to crown my daughter, Divale Terre, as the Crown Princess of you all" the King's voice rang all over the silent hall.
"As the spiritual rituals have proven my daughter to be worthy then I have no objection whatsoever. So with deep reverence, I crown Divale Terre as Crown Princess of Urankia" he placed the crown on her head.
A huge round of applause was heard and a few whistles of joy as well.
"Oh, my dear" the Queen was already wiping her eyes of tears.
"Congratulations, Crown Princess"
The Princess smiled brightly as she saw how her parents were happy for her.
This was what she was born for.
To be the perfect child of the royal family and prove her worth to the throne.
And to make her family proud.
