Chapter 6 - "I can't do this!"

"Come here, my darling" Queen Topal took her daughter and they both sat on the bed.

"Tell me, my dear Princess. Why is today important to us?" The Empress asked.

"Because I would be choosing a new King to preserve our lineage" the Princess answered.

"No, it's important to the Empire because of that but the reason it's important to me and your father is that our baby girl would be debuting and she would also choose a life partner for herself," the Queen said with a smile.

"Your father and I have been waiting for this day ever since you were born. A day where you would make us proud and prove to everyone that you are worthy of the throne" the Empress said.

"But what if I disappoint, mother?" the Princess voiced her concern.

"Disappoint? My dear, you can never disappoint us. You're our daughter. You have no single flaw, you're perfect" the Queen muttered.

"Thank you, mother" the Princess smiled.

"That's my daughter. You are a Princess of Urankia and the daughter of the great Emperor, King Terre. You don't get nervous for such things," the Queen smiled.

"Now, chin up" the Queen used her finger to raise the Princess's chin.

"And head high" she held her daughter's shoulder with a proud smile.

"Remember, you're perfect. Always remember that" the Queen said.

"Now, can I go back to the hall?" The Queen smiled.

"Yes, mother. Thank you very much" the Princess smiled.

"It's okay, see you out there" the Empress stood up and walked out of the room.

The Princess sighed as she stood up from her bed to walk down to the mirror. Her eyes swiped over her features all over again and she let out a heavy breath.

The Princess was very nervous. It wasn't in her nature to be scared of such things but today was a big day, practically the day that the entire Empire looked forward to and it was all on her hands.

Whether it would fail or prosper.

If the Princess feared anything in the world, it was disappointing her parents.

Ever since she was a child, she was raised with high expectations, and that put a lot of pressure on her.

She was scared to cause a problem in the castle that she rarely played outside. She always gauged her parents' reaction before she did anything.

That way, she could be the perfect child.

That way, people wouldn't mock her parents for not having a single good child.

That way, she could the way everyone expected her to be.

So now that she was about to debut, the expectations had doubled and so had the pressure.

The Princess folded her fingers as her nerves shot up.

"You're perfect, very perfect" she whispered to herself.

"You have not a single flaw" she chanted out like a mantra.

There was a knock on the door before Lady Precelle stepped in.

"Your Highness, it's time" Lady Precelle whispered.

The Princess took one last look at herself in the mirror.

~Head up, no one is above you~

She said in her head before she walked out of her room with Lady Precelle behind her.

The debutante was being held at the royal hall which was situated at the far end of the castle. Numerous ceremonies have been held here, including Royal weddings, birthday parties, and victory ceremonies but the event held here tonight could be said to be the grandest one ever.

The debutante of the Crown Princess of Urankia, Divale Terre Reyrell.

The footsteps of the Princess could be heard thundering down the hall as she walked towards the hall.

When she got there, the guards standing by the door were about to announce her presence when she stopped then by raising her hand in their direction.

"Is there something wrong, Your Highness?" Lady Precelle asked.

"Precelle, I don't think I can do this" the Princess shook her head.

"What?! But, Princess-" Lady Precelle was perplexed.

"I can't do this!" the Princess said and turned around to leave.
