"So nice of you to lend your daughter for this walk, Your Majesty" Earl Maneder smiled with a bow.
"We leave her in good hands, Earl" the Empress smiled.
"Of course, when I'm with her, no harm would touch even a strand of her hair. Rest assured, Your Majesty" Earl Maneder boosted.
~How sure are you about that, Earl?~ the Princess thought inwardly.
"Shall we go, Your Highness?" He offered his arm and the Princess took it with a small smile.
They got into the carriage and it took off to the same park she had been with Lord Derke just an hour ago.
"So, Princess, why did you decide on this date?" Earl Maneder asked.
"I wanted to spend some more quality time to get to know you, Earl" the Princess answered.
"I see. Well, no Vampiress have not ever once not fallen for me, so I totally understand" Earl Maneder said with an air of pomposity.
"Of course, you're quite charming, aren't you?" the Princess grimaced.
~Gag!~
"You don't need to say that, I know" he chuckled, not getting the underlying meaning to her statement.
"Sure, you do" the Princess was itching to roll her eyes.
Thankfully, the carriage stopped when it got to the park and the couple got down to step on the fresh grass.
"What a nice place, isn't it, Your Highness?" Earl Maneder breathed in the fresh air.
"Yeah" the Princess answered absentmindedly.
She was busy cooking up how to make Earl Maneder fail this test. She couldn't use the same tactic as she did with Lord Derke because her brother was very smart and he would easily realize she was the one behind it.
So she had to find another to make Earl Maneder fail this test.
Her brain was devising a means to do that now and her brows were furrowed as she thought deep and hard.
"You know, I'm a very busy vampire. On a norm, I wouldn't have time for such silly dates but because it's you, I had to yield some really important things to be here," Early Maneder scoffed.
"You're really busy, aren't you?" the Princess snorted.
"Yeah, I mean, everyone is looking for me everywhere and they all need me. Sometimes, it's not easy to be everyone's favorite" the Earl sighed.
~How hasn't he still suffocated from this cocky nature?! Gosh, I'm barely breathing!~ the Princess gritted in her head.
"I see," that was all she was able to bring out, without having to insult this arse of a pompous Earl!
"You seem a bit quiet, Princess, is something the matter?" the Earl asked.
"Of course not, I'm good" the Princess smiled.
The reason why her mouth was shut was that her brain was busy at the moment.
The Princess looked around. It should be around time for the disguised soldiers to step out of the shadows, she must think fast.
A smirk that was only suitable for a devilish plan came onto her lips as she figured out what to use to eliminate Earl Maneder from this test.
He likes touching ladies, doesn't he? Then she would simply have to throw herself on him, and Divale knew just the right way to do so.
Just in cue, the group of disguised soldiers jumped out of the grasses with their masked faces and surrounded the Earl and the Princess.
"What-who are you?! And what do you want?!" The Earl went on offense mode as he used one hand to push the Princess back.
~You won't be needing to do that, pal~ Princess Divale snorted in her head.
"Get the Princess!" One of them yelled as the others lunged forward to attack.
Just as Earl Maneder was about to pull out his sword to defend himself, our ever extraordinary Divale pushed his hand back as she threw herself on him with the great amount of force she could gather.
Earl Maneder wasn't able to hold his weight from the sudden baggage laid on him, and they both staggered back to the floor.
"Princess!" the Earl was totally confused.
"Help! Help me!" Princess Divale began her hysteria.
"Oh, no! I'm about to die! Somebody save me!" She yelled out at the top of her lungs as she waddled her limbs like a dying fish on too of Earl Maneder who was struggling to even see because her large gown was all over his face.
"P-Princess!" the Earl was trying hard to take her off him.
"Somebody! Help! I can't die now! I haven't even gotten married!!" She cried out as she purposefully jumped on top of the Earl to make his resistance unsuccessful.
The vampires in disguise paused in great confusion. They couldn't actually figure out what the Princess was up to and why she was acting so horribly as well.
Her job here wasn't to act, it was simply to stand by as the suitors fight them, so why was she taking up the dramatic role now?
They couldn't find a possible outcome for it, so they simply stood and watch the farce before them.
By now, Earl Maneder had succeeded in overthrowing the Princess off him and getting onto his feet on a defensive position.
But just as he was about to strike the soldiers, he felt two hands grip him from his shoulders.
"Earl! Earl! Save me!" the Princess's wails filled the air.
"P-Princess!" the Earl was almost suffocating from the manner she grabbed his collar.
Then, out of nowhere, Princess Divale threw her body towards the soldiers and they were forced and out of instinct, to catch her.
"Oh! I'm damned! I've been caught! Oh, no! The Earl couldn't save me!!" the Princess wailed as the vampire holding her was in utter confusion.
"Earl Maneder, you have failed in protecting my sister and the Princess from the danger you faced, therefore, you have failed the loyalty test" Prince Kelle announced back at the castle and the Earl looked down in embarrassment.
~Bye, bye, Earl!~ the naughty Princess snickered.
"Divi, are you ready for the final test?" Prince Kelle asked his sister with a smile.
"Of course, I am, Brother" the Princess smiled in response.
"I just hope Master Filen doesn't disappoint as the others" the Prince sighed under his breath.
~He won't, Brother. I'll make sure of that~ Princess Divale smirked in her head.
Two down, it remained just one...
The Princess was coming for Lukel...
