Chapter 19 - "Missed me?"

"Hmm, hmm, hmm" the Princess hummed as she sat on her vanity table and stared at herself in the mirror.

The servants were making her hair, putting on makeup on her face and the rest were placing some jewelry on her body.

The Princess's mood today was far one of the best she has ever been in. She woke up with a dazzling smile on her lips and she has been skipping with joy ever since.

Even the servants noticed it and they raised a few uncertain glances. They didn't know what made the Princess so happy that she hasn't even yelled at them since she woke up.

That has never happened so the servants were on their toes today because they felt like it was the silence before the storm.

Once they were done with their work, they stepped back with bowed heads.

The Princess stood up from the chair and twirled in front of the mirror.

"Tell me, girls, how do I look?" the Princess asked.

"You look breathtaking, My Princess," one of the servants said.

"You look stunning, Your Highness" another one added.

They all inputted different synonyms of beautiful so the Princess could feel content.

"Hm, I know, I know. You don't need to say it," the Princess waved her hand.

"What I want to know is if a male sees me, will he be rendered speechless by my beauty?" the Princess asked.

"Of course, Your Highness, no male in the empire would be able to resist your charm" one of the servants added

."You think so?" her eyes lit up.

"Of course, my Princess," the servant nodded.

"Great, that's what I want to hear" the Princess smirked.

"Tell the guards to prepare the carriage for me," she ordered and the servants went out of the room.

A pleasant smile was on the Princess's face as she stared at her reflection.

Her mind went to the werewolf she met two days ago, and her heart danced with joy as she remembered the way his hands felt around her waist.

A knock came from the door which made her snap into her senses.

"Who's there?" she asked.

"It's Lady Precelle, Your Highness" her voice came.

"Come in," the Princess said.

The door opened and Lady Precelle stepped into the room.

"Princess, you called for me?" Lady Precelle bowed.

"Yes, Precelle, where have you been since morning?" the Princess asked.

"Apologies, Your Highness. The Empress had summoned my presence at first light," Lady Precelle bowed.

"Do you need me for anything, Princess?" Lady Precelle asked.

"Yes, I'm going out and I need you to accompany me," the Princess said as she arranged her dress while looking at the mirror.

"Of course I will, but pardon me to ask, Your Highness. Where are you going to, all dressed up like that?"

Lady Precelle looked at the Princess from head to toe. It looked like she was going on a ball, rather than to visit someone.

"I want to go visit one of the suitors," the Princess said as she walked out of her room with Lady Precelle behind her.

"One of the suitors? But why, My Princes? Has he fallen ill or something?" Lady Precelle asked.

"No, Precelle. You don't only visit someone because a tragedy has befallen them" Princess Divale rolled her eyes.

"Then what's so urgent that you are eager to leave so early, My Princess?" Lady Precelle asked.

"Oh, Precelle. You ask too many questions, aren't we going now? You will know why I want to visit when we visit. Now, stop asking me so many questions, I don't want to smear my makeup" the Princess huffed.

"Apologies, Your Highness" Lady Precelle bowed."

Oh, pleasant morning, Father" the Princess kissed the King's cheeks with a bright smile.

"Pleasant morning indeed, Divale. May I ask why your mood is over the top today?" the King smiled down at his daughter.

"Oh, Father. Why ask such? Must there be a particular reason for your daughter to be happy? I mean, look outside, the sun is shining bright and the birds are chirping with joy, why wouldn't anyone be joyful this morning?" the Princess twirled in the hall.

She did earn a few glances from the servants and guards standing by.

They were surprised at how pleasant the Princess was behaving today. Not to be rude, but she did act like b****h-

Oops, pardon me for my language, she was known by all the servants to be a brat who pulled tantrums when she didn't get what she wants or just because she was bored.

That's why she was known as the witch amongst the servants because when she was coming, they all dispersed and pretended to be busy because they all had to avoid her at all costs.

"I see, I am delighted to see how happy you are. But what is this I hear? You want to go and visit one of the suitors?" the King frowned.

"Yes, Father" Princess Divale nodded.

"But why? It is unbefitting for a lady, not to talk of a Princess to go visit her prospective suitors in their home before the matrimony" the King said.

"Father, don't you think I know that? But I am forced to do so because I need to make sure of who I am getting married to" the Princess replied.

"Pardon? I don't quite understand, Divale" the King frowned.

"Father, you saw all the suitors on my debutante, you saw how poised and well cultured they all were but do you think that is how they are in their homes? Do you think they exhibit the same manners and attitude within their abode? How else will we find that out unless I give an impromptu visit?" the Princess smirked when she noticed her father's expression morphing into one of understanding.

"I need to test how they would act under such a short notice visit, how they treat their guests, and some other things to be sure that they are genuine" the Princess added.

"Wow, I never thought of it that way. Indeed, you are a clever Vampiress and I am proud to call you my daughter" the King bustled with pride.

"Oh, you flatter me" the Princess covered her face to pretend to be shy whereas, she had a devilish smirk on her face.

"I permit you to visit the suitors. And when you're back, you must share your observations with your Mother and me I" the King said.

"Of course, Father. Rest assured, I will definitely do that" the Princess smiled.

"Your Highness, the carriage is ready" one of the guards bowed.

"I should take my leave now, Father. I have a suitor to inspect" the Princess turned around to leave with a smirk.

She knew she had a way with words and she will use it to her advantage when the need arises.

Princess Divale sashayed down to the carriage and got in with the help of a guard.

Atter Lady Precelle got in, the royal carriage rolled out of the castle in the order of the Princess.

The journey towards Master Filen's temporary abode in Urankia was more than a stone's throw journey because it was located in the upper part of town, close to the mountains.

But still, just with the thought of seeing the werewolf again, the Princess endured the long ride until finally, the carriage stopped.

The Princess looked at the mansion before her through the window and a frown came onto her lips.

~Not even nearly half of the Castle~ she thought with displease.

With the help of a guard, she got down from the carriage, and instead of waiting for Lady Precelle, she sauntered off to the door.

She then used her index finger to push the doorbell and she waited for a response.

Not less than a minute, the door was opened and what she saw made her smile brightly.

"Missed me?" she smirked at the werewolf standing before her.
