"Before we go any further, any questions from the jury?" The judge asked but no one moved to say anything.

"No questions asked, questioning of the perpetrator," the magistrate rang and the Princess's heart stopped beating for a second.

They were about to question him.

The judge now turned to Lukel who looked like he wanted to be anywhere but here.

His eyes were hazy and he was leaning on the rail as though he would fall unconscious any time from now.

"Your name?" the judge asked.

"L-Lukel," he answered.

Just the sound of his voice made the Princess close her eyes as a sharp pain filled her heart.

"Lukel what?" The judge asked.

"I-I don't have a surname," he said.

"I see, how did you get into the Castle as a slave?" the judge asked.

"I was bought by the Princess from Master Filen's abode," he replied while keeping his head down.
