"Who are you to my daughter?" the Empress asked Lukel as she looked down at him through the bars.
Lukel didn't move an inch as his body went rigid from surprise. He was tempted to look up and see the expression on her face as she asked the question but he didn't.
He knew if he did that, he would seem suspicious to her so he kept his head down but his head was raging with numerous thoughts.
Why was the Empress asking such a question?
What did she hear that made her even think of something like this?

He didn't know what to think but all he knew was that he needed to answer her question to avoid implicating the Princess.
"I-I don't understand your question, Your Majesty," Lukel blurted out first to stall some time.
