Reila and Lukel walked into the grounds after they had gone off to the woods to have a run like they used to do back then when they were younger.
As they stepped into the Packlands, they knew instantly that something was up.
Their confused eyes swept past everywhere but they couldn't conclude what had happened during their absence.
Everyone was out in the dark, talking and chattering while some were even dancing and singing for fun.
They knew it was the full moon night but normally, it was only the couples who were supposed to be out, not everyone, including the children.
They all seemed to be in a festive mood but what were they celebrating? They didn't know.
"Is that a bear?" Reila bulged her eyes out when she saw some males slaughtering the meat of the huge animal.
Lukel followed her gaze and spotted it as well. He didn't know what to expect or think after seeing that.
