More than two years of learning history and current state of affairs from her mother and other necessary education Leon was fed up, because what he really wanted to study was Magic.
"Mother, I have asked you this many times, when will you teach me about magic? I really want to learn?" Leon asked her mother during one of his study sessions.
"There is always a right time for everything. When the times come you will get to know magic yourself." Elaina replied to Leonard's question the same as always.
Leon hearing her mother's answer made an upset and unsatisfied face.
Elaina watching her son this upset face, she finally gave in.
"Okay, do not make that face. I will teach you some of the basic magic today," Elaina said to Leonard.
Hearing this Leonard changed his facial expressions from upset to happy. 'Huh, good thing I know how to manipulate a mother's feeling while I am still a child'
There are four basic elements: fire, water, wind and earth. And then there are special elements: light and darkness. Every person in this world has strong affinities toward at least one of the elements.
Then there are rare magic, which are classified as Void magic, Spatial magic and Spirit magic. These three types of magicians are very rare. If out of every ten thousand magicians there is a special element magic user, then you can say that a rare magic user will be an entity out of every ten million magic users.
The affinity of magic is awakened at the age of five, when a child is baptised at a church.
"That is why I have told you that you are currently not ready to learn magic since you do not know the affinity towards which element." Elaina said to Leon in an authoritative tone.
"Alright, mother I understand. So can you tell me what is yours and father element affinity." Leon asked Elaina eagerly.
"Your father has a strong affinity with fire elements and as for me, don't be surprised. Your mother has high affinity with water and light elements." Elaina provides the answer to Leon with a proud expression on her face.
"Wow, my mother is not only a special magic user but also has affinity with two elements." Leon boosted Elaina while praising her.
"Mother, but you said that each person has an affinity with one element right?" Leon asked her mother with a confused expression on his face.
"There are those who can control more than one elements. They are specified as Dual magician, Tri magician and Quad magician specifying that they can control upto two, three and four elements respectively. You do not need a strong affinity to control an element. However, stronger affinity means that you can use more powerful magic with that element." Elaina explained to Leon in a way that could be easily understood by a child.
After this magic lesson, Leon thought 'Let's try some magic, if it works then I can practice, if it didn't work then I will just wait till the awakening'.
As soon as Elaina became busy in her chores, Leon went to study again, where different sorts of books were available. This was a collection of Elaina.
Among them, there was a book for magic, "Guide to Magic". This book was a gift for Leon after his awakening.
Leon knew about this book, however didn't read this book before because he didn't want to cause any accidents or worries.
However after receiving the basic knowledge, he knew that he could avoid accidents. So, he jumps at the chance he gets.
The book starts with simple manipulation of mana. Then the book divides into the sections of elements starting with fire, earth, water and air.
In this world, mana is all around us. Mana resides in air, tress, land, life itself is a bundle of mana.
Following the book instructions, he concentrated on the mana that follows in his body. He was able to quickly get the understanding of the meaning behind the control of mana.
At first Leon used up to 14 days to learn the basic control of mana. After the 14th day Leon was able to form a ball of mana in the palm of his right hand.
This made him quite confident in his ability to control mana and now he wanted to try an element spell to see if he can cast magic or not.
Starting with fire, Leon first understood the meaning behind the spell and he already had enough knowledge on how a fire is created.
With this he chanted the spell written in the book while putting his hand in the direction of the sky from the window of the room.
