I reeled, memory hazy, overwhelmed by the harrows of hell Samael put me through.

His face was somber, and he wiped the sweat on my pink, freckled brow. He placed a kiss on my forehead, tears hot from his now human face, and he left rose oil perfumed, sealed wax parchment on the dingy motel nightstand beside us.

"I'll… I'll fix us some dinner, Shannon. I told Arietta and Christ I had to come clean to you –"

"Wait!" I cried out, sobbing. "You're Lucifer? I dreamed you were a starved blonde angel, a Dragon, and you swallowed me alive."
