I got the same zing as before and found myself brimming with ideas of what to create. The two women glided hand in hand over to the food stand, drawing attention from the men, angel and demon alike.
"Heartbreakers both of them," Gabriel said affectionately.
"You've had experience?"
The angel laughed uproariously. "No, darling." She winked. "They're my competition."
"Ah," I said, secretly pleased that Bible-thumpers the world over were oh so very wrong.
"Well it looks like you've hit it off with five of the seven archangels," Gabriel said brightly, taking a fluted glass of champagne from a server. "Sandalphon's nose is probably too drilled into his books to notice anything's happening outside his library and Raphael, well, he's probably out back barbecuing something-"
"Hamburgers coming through!" announced a rich voice.
"Case in point."
