The gin and tonic stung as it went down my throat.  I winced at the sour taste, wiping the beads of liquid from my lip.  Samael smiled, downing his vodka in one gulp.  I stirred the lime in my ice and felt the first bloom of rosiness on my cheeks as the liquor slipped through my veins.  Samael took my shaking hand in his and held it steady.
