Chapter 20 - Caught

~The true masterminds, The Reapers, are the true scourge of the entire universe, no, the entirety of existence. Their true origins are unknown.~

YEAR: 2161

LOCATION: Adele Street(Underground)

The bright blue Gate began humming in the dark as it shone brighter and brighter until its blinding light covered the entire space. Three figures came out from within the Gate as the light dulled and faded. The colors faded into grey and black, as the swirling flow of the Gate grew stagnant.

"You really killed every one of them?" Kyron asked in disbelief.

"Yep! That was the plan from the start." Michael said smugly.

"B...But when?" Kyron spoke, as he was shocked Michael had exterminated all of his former subordinates in his absence.

"On our way to the Grand Hall, we met quite a few of them, which I promptly dealt with. Even after killing you and reviving you, it would still take some time before you woke. I used that opportunity to kill off the rest of them. Any more questions?" Michael answered smiling.

"Uh, no..." Kyron said hesitantly.

Michael had told him to speak casually to him, as they would be considered equals and friends in his world. As an order from his master Kyron was ready to obey, but...

"This is so hard" He lamented to himself.

Kyron now had the appearance of a 16-year-old boy, however, he wasn't dark in complexion like Michael, or Tenny. He was somewhat fair, had dark reddish hair, black eyes, and a roguish appearance. He was also taller than both Michael and Tenny.

While he did not understand why his master had chosen to give him this form, he was willing to comply.

"Finally! We're back on Earth! I wonder why we could even breathe on an alien planet. Do all alien planets have oxygen?" Tenny spoke curiously.

"No" Michael answered flatly.

"The reason is because of the Otherworldly energy in the ruined world. All ruined worlds possess Otherworldly energy as a major component in their atmosphere. Normally, any normal person there would die, but as Awakened ability users we can live and breathe using that energy."

"I thought you'd even be more curious about how we were able to understand Kyron, and how he understood us, given our different languages." Michael sighed.

"Hold up... Wasn't he speaking English?" Tenny asked, looking at Kyron, puzzled.

"I was not. I know not this English you speak of." Kyron replied. "The reason we understood one another is that we share The Seed within us, and so our speech is translated into our various consciousness. Only Awakened can understand me, however, and vice versa." He concluded.

"Oh, that makes sense..." Tenny spoke, almost convinced when a realization dawned on him. "Wait a second... How will Kyron pass as human if he doesn't understand most people, and they don't understand him?" Tenny asked frantically, turning to Michael who was just subtly smiling.

"He'll learn" He simply answered Tenny, who seemed surprised at the simplicity of his brother's solution, as well as its difficulty. "You may think it's going to be difficult for him, since it's easier to learn languages when you're still young, and even at that it still takes a considerable amount of time before it is fully learned. Not even considering his alien descent, and the fact that he's entirely new to our system, it won't be a walk in the park, right?" Michael asked Tenny, smiling.

"Well... Yes, exactly." Tenny answered.

"Wrong! I said it earlier didn't I? Grandmasters possess intelligence that supersedes any regular being. Kyron is most likely higher than you when it comes to his IQ, learning capacity, and processing speed." Michael said.

"What?!" Tenny exclaimed as he looked at Kyron, who was confused about how to react to this.

"Since I do not possess the ability to forcefully teach him our language, we'll have to do it the old-fashioned way, which I calculate will still take over a week, even at Kyron's pace," Michael said.

"A week? To learn English...?" Tenny said, shaken and surprised, remembering how long it took him to learn the said language.

"What are you talking about? Just English? No, he's going to learn all he's supposed to know for his age!" Michael said confidently.

Tenny's brain froze, blacked out, then rebooted as he just couldn't process what he was hearing.

Michael looked around the underground passage and said, "At any rate, we should brace ourselves...They're here"

Suddenly light flashed everywhere as dozens of footsteps were heard and a voice cried out, "Hands in the air where I can see them."

The darkness covered the identity of their assailants, or so they thought. But the boys could see them clear as day, with Michael's enhanced vision, Tenny's spatial senses, and Kyron's sight.

There were 21 elite soldiers, each wearing vests with SAD-N (Special Abilities Division of Nigeria) written on them. There carried firearms, each capable of taking down an Elephant in a single shot. They also had additional ammunition, radio communications, night glasses, heat sensors, and other gear that gave them the advantage in the current terrain, or so they thought.

"Should I deal with them mas-, I mean Michael?" Kyron asked, ready to move.

Michael smiled, shrugged, and said, "Nah, they're mom's work buddies so don't."

He raised both his hands in surrender.

"We'll do as they say for now."

Tenny and Kyron, after seeing Michael's reaction, were surprised and puzzled but followed suit.

"No sudden movements" Came the same harsh voice from earlier.

"On your knees!" He said as the three boys reluctantly obeyed.

The armed men moved closer as their lights kept flashing on the eyes of the kneeling boys. Michael could tell that their captain was communicating through radio to another, probably a superior above ground, awaiting his next order. He then stopped as he moved closer to the boys.

"You scum are fortunate, you won't be dying on the spot. We'll be taking you to base, and when we get there, you've got some explaining to do." The captain spoke, surprised by the age and appearance of the kids. His eyes suddenly bulged as he saw the face of both dark complexioned boys. He couldn't believe his eyes, it couldn't be!

"Tenny? Michael?... H-how... Why?"

The man became completely paralyzed and unsure of what to do.

"Hey, dad... It's been a while." Michael said, with a smile on his face.
