Less than an hour later, she returned and told him that there were enough rooms upstairs, and so they ventured to a top floor. There were dead bodies scattered around the room, of course, and over time, they had decayed. Fortunately, there were windows, which gave properly ventilation, and even though electricity was not available, they could make do with a torch. They were able to clear the room of the dead bodies, and in time the smell would leave thanks to fresh breeze from outside.
She unpacked her bags on one of the beds beside Darey, and told him to do the same. They were going to share the same room, and Darey could understand why.
It was getting late, and they were both exhausted. To use another room would mean they had to clear the space again, and even if they could manage that, the smell would remain for a few hours before it dissipated. They would just have to make do.
