Six days later.
A letter arrived addressed to Empress Violet Rossaria Vanidestine.
From Olivia Wilde.
The letter 'requested' that the Empress visit Lady Olivia at her quarters on the North wing of the Palace that the Emperor gave to her.
"The audacity of this woman is boundless.
How absurd ."
Violet almost crumpled the letter in rage.
It was very clear to Violet that Lady Olivia had no respect for her as the Empress.
Violet could see Lady Olivia's arrogance and disregard seep through the letter that she sent.
"Huh. A Mistress requests the legal wife ,
the Empress of the Empire to visit her?
What a joke."
Violet sneered as she looked at Lady Olivia's request.
" I haven't met her and she's already intolerable. I thought I would let her be if she quietly stayed by the Emperor's side but how dare a mere mistress show such a disrespectful behaviour towards the Empress of the Empire?"
"Bring me pen and paper.", Violet asked Lillian who was standing behind her.
"Here it is , Your Majesty."
"Thank you , Lillian."
[ "If Lady Olivia Wilde seeks an audience with me ,
she is permitted to do so in 5 days time exactly at noon.
Late arrival will not be entertained. "
-Empress Violet Rossaria Vanidestine.]
"Send this to Lady Olivia."
There was no way that Violet would go to meet Lady Olivia just because she sent a letter.
Even if Lady Olivia was the daughter of a Duke or Marques , she had no right to 'request' the Empress to visit her at a whim.
Now , she did not even have a proper title and she dared to behave so ill- mannered and impertinent.
Violet knew that Lady Olivia dared to be conceited and contumelious because she had the Emperor's favour.
But Violet refused to let a mistress walk all over her.
"Yes , Your Majesty."
"Xander, let's go for a walk."
A week had passed so Violet was finally free to walk around the gardens.
Violet called her personal Knight to go on a walk with her.
Xander was 6ft 1 inches tall with orange ombre hair and hazel green eyes.
He was quiet, soft spoken and extremely skilled at the art of fighting.
He had incredible strength and agility.
Xander was an orphan the Duke had saved 12 years ago.
He was 9 years old at that time.
Violet had been adamant that he be her personal Knight the moment she saw him.
Her reason?
Because he had beautiful orange hair.
Since then, Xander had trained to be a Knight and followed Violet wherever she went.
He was loyal , brave and rational.
Just the perfect person to be a knight.
Violet treated Xander like a friend and an older brother.
He did not speak much in front of others but he was extremely attentive to Violet and her needs.
Violet looked around as she reached the garden in her Eastern Palace.
It was beautifully decorated with beautiful flowers.
The afternoon sun washed the garden with a golden glow.
Daisies peep through the pea-green grass.
Golden daffodils fluttered and danced in the breeze.
Freesia , amaryllis , buttercups , snowdrops and orchids embellished the garden .
Buzzing bees surf the open spaces from flower to flower, desperately seeking pollen.
The pollens looked like floating grains of pixie dust , scattered by the gentle wind.
The chirping of birds gave off a pleasant and soothing sound .
The wholesome scent of the flowers.
The pretty coloured leaves.
Washed away all the irritation she felt earlier.
Violet and Xander walked around the entire garden twice.
"How refreshing!"
" Your Majesty , I've noticed that nature
doesn't seem to be in that much of a hurry.
The squirrels move at their pace.
The birds fly and chirp as they feel like.
None of it is rushed.
Yet so often we rush ourselves like maniacs.
So,
it's okay to take it slow.
Take a deep breath.
Don't hurry.
Be steady. "
" You're right , Xander.
What I'm meant to accomplish , I will do so.
In due time.
Thank you. "
Violet replied gratefully.
Xander had always been with her.
He was more than a knight to her .
An advisor.
A friend.
" It's getting late , Your Majesty. Shall we head back in?"
" Hmmm. Let's go."
