Inside was a full stock of supplies, but it was weird when there was no zombies but only blood trails and mucus that's spread on the floor, it also meant a higher zombie was inside, even if it's only one week the world is already dangerous
Bought thought the same thing but they were a bit indifferent, they already have many supplies but if this was to be declined by anyone then they might be an idiot
They collected almost half of the materials and didn't found any zombies, from dried fish to fresh fishes that was frozen, canned meat and piles of raw meat, packed mixed fruits to fresh fruits and vegetables, liters of water as they also got chocolates and condements, flashlights, batteries, gas, oil, utensils, tools, and many more
But never did they saw any zombies, the two cautiously went up slowly when a fast shadow suddenly attacked them on the stairs as they defend instinctively
Ming Xue and Ning Shu jumped to the first floor and saw the full appearance of the zombie.. which was shocking
The dead have long neck with stretched skin and have wounds that have dried blood, the head was opened showing sharp canines that have red blood dripping, the nose, ears and eyes were mismatched and moves like in horror movies, the hair was full of mucus but the scalp was full shown with yellow liquid flowing out looking utterly disgusting, the body was hunched forward with weird bones and organs coming out of the wide wound on the stomach with abnormal long and sharp limbs, but unlike the zombies they last saw they were in the wrong direction but was abnormaly steady, wearing a guard uniform he suddenly became blurred as his shadow moved, it was so fast only mirages appeared
The two tacitly defend and attack, when one was about to be scratched the other will defend and the latter will cause injury
After 5 minutes, Ming Xue found an opening, when Ning Shu was attacked and was defending while also giving time, he bends down and slashed the legs with all his strength as it was cut like paper and then with the disadvantage directly killed the zombie who can't escape
The two looked at each other and did a high-five, right, you must be wondering why they didn't used their abilities, they were practicing their limits and physical fitness, after all they can't always rely on the ability
Anyways, both were also secretly practicing their control over their powers so they were happy, and they can still handle this even without it, they are also testing the other's actions and how much can they tacitly cooperate
Ming Xue might be stupid about human nature but he have countless ideas to show how much can he trust the other, he might have been a bit ignorant but he knows the moderate that can make him have a trustable partner and not just a friend that can be betrayed..

Upstairs was necessities, school supplies, clothes, etc., they didn't separate and just put all the things they can put equally, well Ning Shu secretly put more in his space for more material
Leather shoes, coates, pants, bags, papers, books from preschool to collage, cooking, manuals, notebooks, pens, ruler, and the recent map of the cities and countries available
When the carefully opened the storage room that was locked a zombie that have an average strength and agility was inside, unlike the guard, the other seems to be a staff with a more intact body but have the most hideous appearance
The facial features was intact but unnaturally fat, greasy and smell disgusting with bloody and wounded head as blood came pouring down every second, irises are gone with only red eye balls, the body was was like a pudding that seems to have unbalanced weight as wounds, scars and injuries that have dried with a rotten smell
The two felt the zombie wasn't simple and like confirming their speculation the zombie fired small fireballs, the opponent wasn't that difficult so they just avoided it and killed it in one-hit without struggles
Ming Xue looked carefully and found out many dead bodies scattered, organs like intestines, skins, fingers, bones and such was mixed, red dried blood was on the floor like pond, the smell was like a garbage that already rotts for two weeks and was utterly gorie and a fleshy smell that is no longer fresh
Disgusting..
Yet the two didn't even budge even if they have a more sensitive senses just frowned in discomfort and looked around the boxes on the floor and shelves completely intact
They found wines, cigarettes, beers, soda, juice, all liquids, they still put it in the space though as they sorted out everything and went downstairs
Putting two futons, mattress, pillows and blankets with Ning Shu, Ming Xue cooked a vegetable stir-fried dish and two pork belly then served the rice they cooked before
Ning Shu looked at their situation and felt warm, he died without freedom in his last life living like a cold-blooded killer, full of blood and poison but then died because of momentarily careless accident then he transmigrated in the books he casually read in a zombie apocalypse, he thought he will live the same just with more freedom, he never thought that changing the cannon fodder's fate he would be able to meet a mob character that wasn't mentioned even in descriptions but would make him warm and full of joy
Looking at the piping hot simple dish but was amazingly delicious even without his filter, he felt that luck might be with him after death, a compensation he guessed, nevertheless, even with those zombies here it's fine if he have the little boy beside
Ming Xue however wasn't remembering things that might make him gloomy, he just ate and cleared his mind, after lunch he took of the hunting uniform of his showing the tight cotton inside and taking of the unnecessary accessories for a comfortable reading
He relaxed his mind and lay on the bed, barefoot, then cultivated while chatting with his partner to feel closer, but he felt like they are close enough, if not for the fact they still don't fully trust each other
After all, they have the same circumstances, no parents (was told), alone, no friends and shy, they also have same hobbies so it was always fun talking to him
"Hey, Junior, do you want this apocalypse to never happened?" Ming Cue curiously asked
".. No, if this didn't happen, with me being selfish, I wouldn't have found senpai," Ning Shu smiled brightly at the thought
"Eh..? You, i-idiot! A-anyways, you will have sour noodles for dinner!" Ming Xue felt embarrassed but.. but.. if he was selfish enough he would also answer 'no'
Thus the evening was all wasted in chatting, and reading while secretly practicing and cultivating
Early in the morning both felt utterly uncomfortable, no matter what, they were always clean as Ming Xue tacitly went in the bathroom and filled the buckets with pure water of his water ability and took a quick bath first, refill, changed clothes carefully then went out as Ning Shu also washed himself
After a morning routine they packed up and went out of the store, straight to the parking lots, and with a quick inspection they went out and rob a hatchback car with the keys set inside as Ming Xue drove straight to the library ahead..
