Well…
So much for my hasty departure.
Turns out the Hero's Party was merely just having dinner.
Yep.
I wasn't guarding them during a royal procession.
Nor was I assisting them during a training session.
Nope.
I was just watching them eat dinner by themselves.
Yep.
That was all.
After all, the presence of a prince of all people is ABSOLUTELY essential while you are eating dinner!
Right?
Doesn't your family have a prince watch you eat dinner?
Ha!
What age are you even living in bro?
It would be absolutely preposterous to suggest that you would eat WITHOUT a prince supervising!
Oh, and another thing!
Whatever you do, don't you dare consider feeding that prince!
That would be incredibly foolish of you!
It's not like he's hungry or anything…
It's not like he's feels like tearing his own heart out so that he can end his misery!
IT'S NOT LIKE-
*Sigh*
Needless to say, I was pissed. And surprisingly, I wasn't alone in my frustration.
The other heroes were also not too pleased about the current situation.
"Fuck!" I heard a girl named Grace cry out, angrily chucking her mobile phone at the carpeted floor. "How the hell am I supposed charge my phone here? I might just kill myself if I can't check my social media again!"
"Yeah I know right?!" Another girl with bright red-hair named Chloe added, her voice full of sass. "How am I even supposed to communicate without Snapchat? I have actually talk now? Pft! Killing myself might be good option right now!"
I caught another few girls nodding in agreement as Chloe finished her rant, and not surprisingly, I nearly laughed where I stood.
You girls are going to kill yourself because you can't check your phones!?
Ha! The audacity! I didn't even have a phone back on Earth! Why can't you rich kids actually be appreciative of what you have instead of complaining at every possible moment about what you don't have! You buffoons! You've been eating off a golden spoon for so long that you have no sense of normality whatsoever!
"Judging from what I have observed so far in this world Grace, I can conclude with confidence that there's almost no chance of finding a way to charge your phone here." An Asian kid named Geoffrey spoke up. "Magic has most likely overridden the need of electricity, so unless you place your frustrations behind you, your best next step would be for you to kill yourself."
Grace harrumphed in response.
"Thanks for the advice Mr. Know-It-All." She snapped back in irritation. "I couldn't imagine what I would've done without your genius ideas, Geoffrey!"
"I'm glad to be of assistance." Geoffrey replied, his words completely serious. "If you wish any further assistance, I-"
"She doesn't help your help Geoffrey." Chase, one of Henry's goons, interrupted. "And unless you can figure out how to get us off of this shitty world, you can stay silent for now."
Geoffrey stared confusedly at Chase. He nodded slowly in agreement, yet I could tell that he had no clue why the others wanted him to be silent.
I sighed internally. Geoffrey was a walking enigma. He was definitely an extremely intelligent kid, and his grades only just lower than mine. Yet despite that, even an idiot could tell that Geoffrey had virtually zero EQ.
Simply put, he was an idiotic genius. A living calculator with zero emotional perception.
"Did that servant tell ya if there's any way for us to get back Chase?" A large, muscly boy nicknamed Greazy asked. "I kinda wanna see my girlfriend y'know. Dunno if she'll be too happy to know that I've disappeared to some fairy land without her knowledge."
A few of the boys laughed softly at Greazy's words.
"I'd say that's the least of her worries Greazy." Chase responded. "In fact, your girlfriend along with the rest of the school are probably completely dumbfounded as to how a whole classroom of students disappeared right in front of their eyes."
"So how can I go back and tell em' Cha-"
"You can't. Not yet at least."
My jaw subconsciously clenched at the sound of the voice.
Henry Smith.
What was he going to spew out this time?
"Whaddya mean bro? Sure, we don't know how to get back yet, but as soon I do, best believe that I'll be the first one heading back!"
Henry slowly averted his eyes away from his meal onto Greazy's face, his bright blue eyes seeming to cut through the room.
"Go back to Earth, and one day, I'm sure one day you will regret it."
Greazy was taken aback by Henry's words. Actually, it wasn't just Greazy. The entire table was taken aback by his words. They didn't want to stay here at all, so why did Henry think they would regret going back to Earth?
"Explain yourself, Henry." Chloe spoke up, the frustration evident on her face. "Convince me why I should stay in the god-forsaken world."
A short chuckle escaped from Henry's lips, a wry smile cracking on his face.
"Of course. I will explain myself. But first, I must ask you all a few questions."
"Like what?" Chloe blurted out. "Your words are usually quite convincing Henry, but this-"
"Why are you all so eager to go back to Earth?" Henry asked, altogether ignoring Chloe. "You definitely wouldn't leave this world of fantasy and magic for nothing, right?"
My eyes widened as I heard Henry's question. Wasn't the answer obvious? They all lived very comfortable lives back on Earth, and they didn't want to risk their life fighting for a world they hardly knew!
Coincidentally enough, the rest of the table must have also thought the answer was obvious, because in a matter of moments, chaotic chatter completely enveloped the dining room.
"Have you gone crazy Henry?" Greazy shouted out. "I don't give two hoots about magic! I want to see my girlfriend again!"
"Yea Henry, who fuckin' cares 'bout magic anyway?" Isabella, the school idol answered. "I just wanna party, and this world seems fuckin' boring. I'm out asap Henry. A-S-A-P."
"I must also disagree with you Henry. Although you typically tend to judge situations very well, your logic seems extremely flawed in this case." Geoffrey said flatly. "This kingdom is in a state of turmoil Henry. Our immediate survival is in question, and this world's level of technological advancement is far behind our own. It would only be logical to wish to return, don't you think Henry?"
For once, all the students agreed with Geoffrey's cold assessment, nodding their heads and glaring strongly towards Henry. My eyes widened. I was witnessing something that I didn't even think was possible.
Every single classmate sitting around this table was against Henry!
The alpha of Greenfield Academy…no…the Commander of the Hero's Party…was trapped!
After all, how could he change their mind? Sure, magic is cool, but it can never replace the comforts of technology and modernization! And besides, these students were deadset on returning to Earth. Even if you could present solid reasoning on why to stay here, they wouldn't even listen to it.
I took my eyes off the glaring students and focused on Henry.
Surely he had to understand that his cause was ruined.
That confident look had to be gone by now, right now?
Wait…
Why is he smiling? What-
"You fools. You really know nothing about this world."
