FLaris stared up at the two moons high in the sky. After meeting the people she had thought would be fierce and scary, she had been amazed that they were just as warm and welcoming to her as any one would. This made her realize something. General Jin Teng and Wu Long had both had time and again told her that a mate was valued the most on their planet. Seeing the utmost respect and a little envy she had seen in the unmated generals, she finally understood. A mate was their most treasured bond. Lost in her thoughts, she soon fell asleep.
Suddenly, Flaris found herself running through a deep forest. She panicked. What was this? Hadn't she been sleeping peacefully in Wu Long's room?
"Kill her!", a voice commanded in her head and she looked around for the source of the noise but there was no one chasing her. Yet, she could not stop the sense of urgency running through her that made her unable to stop.
