Three old women, sat in a cozy room doing what they did best. Arguing among themselves as heir hands moved at lightning speed, weaving a plaid from three sides. As the three colored threads in each of their hands moved at lightning speed their white haired heads were also moving in dismay.
The first Fate, who looked like a little old woman frowned as she looked at the two colours which had tangled greatly on her side making the other wise perfect looking blanket too ugly and said,"I certainly weaved her death. Then why is your silver and golden thread tangled with mine?"
The First fate was the one who determined the death and sorrow of the people. For the crown prince's blanket, she had used almost all her thread to make his life's path as black as she could but everyone and then the second fate of joy, compassion and love would intrude and make things difficult for her. As a result Prince Ivruss's blanket which should have looked black was full of black and pink colour.
The Second Fate was a woman who was slim but her face was set in arrogance even though there were laugh lines around her mouth, " So what if I threaded a little joy in his life. I can not be as ruthless as you!"
"Well Rules are rules! The King and that woman dared to go against what I had in mind.."
"Well then you shouldn't have left the part of their blankets open! It was your fault that they found each other as their thread interconnected and yet you are blaming them!", snapped the second fate at the first one.
The smaller woman frowned at this and came back with the same answer," I was still thinking about what to do with them.."
The second fate snorted and pulled the Prince's blanket from the first one and furiously started weave more pink threads through it while the first one was distracted.
But then the third fate which had been quietly weaving a light yellow color on the borders of the blanket said,"It is not her who had caused the change in the design for the blanket. It is someone else."
This made the other two women look at the third one with a frown. "Are you saying that Prince Ivruss has finally found a way to overcome our threads and thus he was able to get his mate alive?" The first fate scowled as she thought this. She was anyway so angry that she could cut a few thread but if that prince had overpowered them, then it would be too much. How well she had planned the blow. His mate would die in the aeroplane accident and her dead body would arrive to Adrian. Everyone in the podium would then know just how much the Fates hated him. But somehow that girl had never ended up on the podium and she was alive and in Adrian, currently in the Prince's home..
"What do you mean? Tell us."
The third fate looked the meanest of the two but her eyes were as calm as the lake as she explained,"You wove Flaris's blanket. But where is it? And if you two would stop fighting, you will notice that it doesn't matter that you are using a dull black and dul pink, it has a shimmer to it.."
The two fates glance down simultaneously and then their eyes narrowed at the two women screamed together,"Someone dared to interfere in our weaving."
The third fate smiled. The two women had not even realized that the small pink and black part in the Prince's blanket was actually Flaris's fate. it was already firmly entwined and no matter what they did it would not change.
There was only one person who could challenge the fates like this...All three Fates then called out together,"STARDUST!"
A small girl with cheeks as pink as a flower and as round as a bun suddenly appeared in front of them. She grinned happily and even as she stood straight, there was shimmer all around her. Seeing her grandmothers glaring at her, the little impish girl blinked up and asked,"Grandmothers are angry at Stardust?"
"Did you touch Grandma's weaving?" the third fate asked calmly.
Stardust frowned a bit as she wondered if she should answer truthfully or try to lie. But then the third grandmother looked angry so she confused,"Grandma. I did not mean to. I was so thirsty a few nights ago so I came to drink water. But then I was feeling cold and this blanket looked so warm that I stayed under it for a few hours.."
"WHAT DID YOU DO, STARDUST?". The three fates screamed simultaneously.
But Stardust simply shrugged her shoulders and smiled charmingly as she said," Grandma. I am going now. But before I go.."
Stardust ran over to the newly knitted area and shook her head vigorously, covering the blanket with more sparkle...
