Chapter 29 - A War

General Bao kneeled beside the Queen, his eyes closed in concentration. His forehead was beaded in sweat as he controlled the minds of their soldiers, using all his power to keep them fighting and keep their humanities at bay. His magic was black and fed from human emotions. Whether it was happiness or sadness, fear or courage he could use that and harness his power. But with the Queen's support his magic had become even more powerful. 

While the emotions provided his magic with power, the Queen had made cultivate his magic so that could feed on human souls. But with the cultivation came the condition. He had to surrender his own soul to the queen. But with this battle, if the soldiers he had carefully made were able to achieve what the Queen wanted, then he would have a chance to gain the Queen's favor over her other soldiers.
