Flaris looked around the forest with a new interest. At night, she had been unaware that she was not on Earth but even now it felt like a surreal dream. This place was not very different from earth even in terms of vegetation and trees. Other than the leaves having a unique shiny quality that made them look even a brighter green from their counterparts on Earth. There was also the fact that the air here was clean and the supply of oxygen almost double than that on Earth.
She looked down at the hand that held hers and sighed. She had never imagined that she would hold the hand of a stranger to walk through a forest but here she was. She guessed it was common to hold hands and walk as Wu Long seemed to not consider it of great importance.
Looking up at the man on her side, she asked," Is it so difficult to tell me about the mating? You have bee thinking for so long.."
Wu Long smiled, asking," Have I? I did not realize. Mating is like human marriage but different. Humans choose their own life partners and sometimes they even change their partners. This is not so for us on Adrian. When our ancestors moved from Earth, three powerful magicians were the only ones powerful enough to enter this galaxy with their combined power.. But they did not want the dragons and humans to make the same mistake they had on Earth. As a result, in exchange for a safe haven, the three powerful magicians became the Fates as the Dragons and the humans gave them the right to control their futures. Since then, the fates have held the thread to the lives on Adrian be it human or dragon. One of the most important responsibility on the Fates is finding a mate for the dragons. Sometimes the mates to the dragons are not born here on this planet but on different far away planets and sometimes even Earth. As the cycle of Life and Death on Earth continues, when the Fates feel that a mate is ready to be in a relationship, they will announce the name of the person who has found a mate and then the celebrations begin."
As Wu Long outlined the jolly atmosphere that awaited the arrival of the mate, it reminded Flaris of the weddings on Earth. But the only difference here was.. The bride would not know that she was the bride! She frowned at this and protested," So what happens when the bride, I mean the 'mate' arrives here?"
Wu Long looked down at the young girl who asked such an innocent question and said," Well, you mate!"
Flaris frowned a bit before she understood the meaning and asked in horror, "Are you saying that the male dragon simply boinks his mate the moment the woman gets here? That is so barbaric?"
"Boinks? What does that mean?"
Flaris looked at the confused man and said," Boinked.. You understand the Earth language.."
"Well I have never heard of this term.."
"Boink? No? Then do the males just sleep with their mates?"
"No. No! There is a lot of celebration and a few rituals. They can't really sleep so soon."
"Wu Long! Is the woman who just got landed on the podium expected to have s** with a stranger?"
Wu Long widened his eyes at this and said," No! Where did you get the idea? They have to mate first.. as in become friends first! And then they will feel the attraction. It's just that the process of finding the wrong mate is eliminated because of the fates.."
Satisfied, Flaris nodded. She could not imagine landing on a strange planet and then being expected to sleep with whichever guy she was presented to. That would be too barbaric.
"So, this is one way how women have landed here. But I never landed on a podium, Thank the fates for that by the way, then what is the other way that human's come here? Is there some sort of a black hole that sucks people in? Did the airplane fly over some hole and I got sucked in?"
