'Woah, this place is pretty cool...'
Silver thought to himself as he had just arrived in front of what appeared to be a decently rectangular building with rounded corners. The building itself being made out of a pure smooth white marble, along with the double doors seemingly made out of some kind of black metal. The roof was entirely flat and made out of shiny silver metal.
Finally, on top of the door was a large sign that displayed 'Legend Masters Pet Store'.
"Legend Masters... not bad." Silver shrugged before giving a smile as he walked up to the building before pushing both of the doors open. Upon entering inside, he noticed how the place was indeed decently large, though not massive in any way. Looking around, he took notice of the things that most stood out to him.
At the back wall was a desk that had a computer set up, along with a black chair, it was pretty obvious that it was the receptionist desk or something. He also noticed there being a number of books and such as well as pens placed upon the desk. He then turned his attention to the right where he saw a few doors leading to other rooms.
There were four doors, two of them obviously being the toilets since he saw that they were each labelled with a female and male sign respectively. However, he wasn't exactly sure what the other two doors lead to.
"System, what about those two doors? Where do they go?"
[The door furthest to the left leads into the training room, which is where you'll obviously be able to train the Radiant Beasts that your customers will place in your care, the different areas you will train are located in various different realms. More will be explained when you enter the room. The door next to it is the Incubation and Relaxation Room, this room being for the Radiant Beasts to sleep as well as for eggs to incubate]
"I see." Silver nodded in understanding. Silver then turned his head to the left side of the store to see what was stationed there, and when he did, he took notice of another door as well as what appeared to be different aisles tailored towards different types of goods. "What are the different things that we are currently selling again?"
[Currently, the shop is selling capture cards, medicinal supplies, food, as well as other basic Radiant Beast requirements such as beds and more] The System explained as Silver walked over and took hold of one of the bags, which was coloured red. It was obviously food, and he easily could see it was food for Radiant Beasts who specialise in the fire attribute. [Stock will be refilled whenever you wish, though its cost for restock will depend on how much is needed to be replaced]
"Uh, isn't this price a bit much?" Silver blinked as he saw the price tag that was on the shelf where he had picked up the bag from. The price was 2,000 Ruen, which was quite a lot in his opinion. A bag of this kind of food would usually cost around only 400 Ruen at most. "That's quite expensive. is there any reason for this?"
[Certainly. The reason for the high price is due to the nature of this food. The one you are holding is obviously for those beasts that are of the Fire attribute. This bag of food, while basic, is far purer compared to normal food. It will allow for those fire beasts to naturally recover from injuries and more at a faster rate]
"Okay, that makes sense then." He then placed the bag of food back onto the shelf as he then proceeded to walk over towards the last door. Silver curiously opened up the door, to which he then saw that it led to a furnished bedroom with the basic necessities. Such being a bed, a few drawers for clothes, a desk with a computer setup, as well as an air conditioner and a light source. The main colours of the room were black and red, with the walls being white. "Nice, so this is where I'll be sleeping."
[Owner, the store will open at eight in the morning tomorrow and will close at six in the afternoon. Is this an acceptable work time for you?]
"Oh, yeah, that's fine."
[Your egg is also ready to hatch, would you like to do so now?]
"What? The egg is hatching? Oh, let's do it!" Silver blinked in surprise before quickly gaining an interested look on his face. He then opened up his menu before clicking onto his inventory, he could that the egg was inside as well as the Contract Cards that the system had provided for him. Silver then clicked onto the egg.
When he did, a light soon appeared in front of him. Silver didn't appear at all surprise as he closed down the menu, he then observed as the light slowly condensed as an egg soon was found hovering in front of his eyes. The egg was mainly black in colour along with dark grey lines as well as crimson red glowing lines.
He watched as the egg soon began floating downwards before gently landing on the ground. Silver didn't get to say anything before the egg began to shake, to which he then watched as the egg soon began to crack. Silver widened his eyes when a small black scaled claw struck through the shell, to which the egg soon burst open.
"A dragon..." Silver muttered as he saw a black scaled baby dragon emerge from the egg. It still had its eyes closed as it then slowly uncurled itself. The dragon was mainly black and dark grey with a few crimson glowing red lines lining its body. The dragon had a pair of small wings and also two small horns on its head. "What species is this...?"
Silver had read up on all kinds of Radiant Beasts, and this was a dragon that he didn't recognise the description of nor could recognise by appearance. He had seen images of different dragon-like Radiant Beasts on the internet as well as different dragon described in books, yet... "System, can you display the information on this little guy?"
Silver was curious to find out what this dragon was, and he would be pleasantly surprised if it was a rare one. He honestly wouldn't have minded what he got, but the rarer the better. He knew for a fact it wasn't any of the common dragons that he knew of, nor was it any of the rarer ones he had seen or read about.
It didn't take long before a screen popped up in front of him.

Species: Void Cosmos Dragon
Ascension Stage: 1
Gender: Male
Attribute: Darkness/Cosmic
Battle Stage: Intermediate
Skills: [Voided Jaw] [Cosmic Nova] [Dark Fissure]
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
"Void Cosmos...!" Silver widened his eyes considerably as he stared at the information he was provided. The reason for his surprise was justified as this dragon was a species that had never actually been seen in the past few thousands of years according to history books. "No wonder I didn't recognise it..."
The appearance of the dragon was completely forgotten over time, though its legend still stays strong today. According to what he has read, Void Cosmos Dragons were known for their immense power both physically as well as elementally. Only those of incredible status like kings were said to have them, and even for them, it was incredibly rare to have.
And it seemed that everything was probably true considering what he was reading about the dragon.
He wasn't surprised that it was at its first ascension stage since all baby Radiant Beasts begin at that stage and grow up later through Ascending, which was basically like evolving in Pokemon. Unlike Pokemon though, every Radiant Beasts usually had either four or five stages in ascension. Battle Stage was what calculated the power of a Radiant Beasts.
They went like Beginner, Intermediate, Elite, etc.
The fact that this dragon was already at the Intermediate stage right upon birth already spoke about how powerful it could become in the future, and that excited Silver quite a lot. Radiant Beasts usually reach the intermediate stage sometime after their first ascension into the second stage, and that usually happens around two weeks after its birth if it becomes strong enough.
It wasn't just that, the skills that the dragon had were quite the shocker as well. They were all high-end skills that were usually learned by Radiant Beasts that were within the Elite Battle Stage. More specifically, Radiant Beasts of the Cosmic and/or Darkness attribute that learned these skills sometime after becoming of the Elite Battle Stage.
Just knowing and seeing all of this, Silver couldn't help but release a small grin as his eyes shone with excitement. He couldn't wait to see just how strong this little guy could become in the future, and he was pretty certain that he could expect big things!
[Since this is your first Radiant Beasts. System has already taken the liberty to form a contract between you and the Void Cosmos Dragon]
"Thanks." Silver gave a quick nod of appreciation as he then kneeled down next to the dragon. The dragon was pretty small, though not the smallest Radiant Beast he had ever seen. The dragon slowly opened its eyes, revealing a pair of glowing round crimson eyes that blinked in confusion. "Nice to meet you, my name's Silver."
Silver decided to speak after seeing the dragon looking around at its environment in confusion, though upon hearing Silver's voice, it turned its head towards and up to stare at his face. It blinked a few times before smiling as it opened its mouth, it then released a small cry before jumping into Silver's arms.
"W-Woah, calm down!" Silver gave a small laugh as he caught the dragon in his arms. It was a bit heavy, though he didn't really mind. It constantly licked his face as he just smiled. The dragon appeared already quite fond of him, though he wasn't too surprised. When a Radiant Beast is contracted to someone, it can sense the Master's emotions and intentions.
The dragon had obviously felt Silver's pure and welcoming presence, void of any ill intent as it immediately jumped to him. Silver was a bit surprised about how friendly it was being though, and that was only because he had read that Void Cosmos Dragons were quite aggressive in nature compared to other dragons, which were usually all aggressive anyway.
The fact it hadn't done anything as such yet kind of surprised Silver, not like he minded as he didn't want the dragon flying and rampaging around the store. Silver gently pried it off of him as he held it in front of himself. Silver smiled as he then spoke. "So, you and I will be partners from now on. I hope I can count on you, buddy."
The dragon just gave a small roar in response as it nodded its head at him.

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
Accept: [Yes/No]
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
"Oh, a quest!" Silver said to himself in pleasant surprise. The dragon gave him a confused look when Silver said this, though Silver just ignored it for a second as he read the information provided to him. "Hm... Alright, that sounds like an opportunity to check out the training grounds that I'll be using for the future. This item box also intrigues me."
Silver quickly accepted the quest as he then noticed the quest minimise before displaying it on a small screen in the corner of his peripheral vision. This would not only be an opportunity for him to test the training grounds, but to also not only train his new dragon partner up a bit, even though it's already quite strong, but also to train himself.
It was common knowledge in this world that Masters, those that train Radiant Beast, are also capable of performing supernatural feats. This was due to the contracts they make through taming the beasts with Contract Cards. A bond between a Master and a Radiant Beast allows the Master to train in arts tailored towards that beast's attribute.
For example, Silver can now practice manipulating both Darkness as well as Cosmic elemental skills. Of course, Masters who don't have a strong connection and bond with their contracted beasts will find it exceedingly difficult to be able to manipulate the attributes due to their low bonds with their beasts.
It is also known that training in attributes is incredibly difficult even with a strong bond between beast and Master. So, most Masters at the most only train in either one, two, or even rarely three attributes of their choosing. For example, Silver might choose to just focus on training his ability in manipulating Darkness and not Cosmic, and also maybe focus on training something like Fire when he contracts with a Fire Radiant Beast.
The benefits of being a Master wasn't only this, but it also allows the Master to train their bodies beyond the natural norm. Some Masters who are quite highly skilled have become monsters in their own rights, some incredibly powerful physically and some more defensively depending on what kind of way they have trained their bodies.
Basically, contracts also allow the Master to break through human physical limitations. They will find this easier to do depending on how strong their contracted beasts are. Of course, all of this can very well backfire. If a Master somehow contracts with a beast beyond what they can handle, then everything might go in the opposite direction of what they want.
It was suicidal for a beginner Master to try and contract with a beast who is incredibly powerful, and even more so if that beast proves to be quite aggressive.
"Alright, let's get some training done, pal. We have a shop to open up tomorrow morning and we don't want to waste too much time." Silver said to his dragon as it gave a roar and a nod back at him. Silver then placed the dragon on the ground as Silver began running over towards the training room, to which the dragon soon followed after him.
Upon arriving inside the room, they both looked around curiously. The room was strange as it appeared to be completely white, like an endless white void. It felt strange as Silver found himself walking through the room. Silver walked towards what appeared to be a metallic computer panel at the center of the room.
[The panel will allow you to select different training grounds of different environments, each of which are suitable for certain Radiant Beasts. Just select which one you want to challenge and you will be teleported there. You will need to defeat the final beast that lurks at the end of each of the training grounds]
"I see..." Silver curiously tapped onto the panel as it soon booted up. The screen displayed different tabs that displayed images of the different environments. 'This one looks like the first one. Should probably start with the easiest one, don't want to push ourselves too much just yet.'

[Training Grounds]
Stage: Shimmering Forest
Recommended Battle Stage: Beginner
Materials That Can Be Found: Raydon Fruit [Common], Illes Fruit [Common], Falon Fruit [Uncommon], Lenel Flowers [Uncommon], ...
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
Silver read over all the information and nodded his head. It seemed that he could collect different kinds of materials from these training grounds and bring them back into the shop with him, which in this case mainly being fruit from what he can see from the list. It was also recommended for Beginner Battle Staged beasts, so it wasn't going too hard.
'System, what happens if I somehow die?'
[You don't need to be concerned. While you can very well feel pain from the beasts you will encounter within the training grounds, you will not at all permanently die and will automatically be revived. The same is for the beasts that you are contracted with]
'I see, that definitely brings me some relief...' Silver chuckled inwardly nervously. He didn't want to end up challenging a difficult training ground and only to find himself burnt, drowned, or something else. At least he could come back, but having those things happen would definitely suck. "Before we go, I should give you a name. How about Nexus, what do you think?"
The dragon quickly nodded its head in agreement as it flapped its wings, to which Silver smiled before nodding as he then looked towards the panel once again. Silver then pressed onto the selected training ground as a light soon covered the entire room.
