Einer was immediately hit with even more new information that didn't help him in any way, and he almost wanted to return to town right at that moment so he could get some answers.
Before he could walk off in frustration to deliberate further, a glimmering in his peripheral vision caught his eye, and when he looked over there was something that just added on to his confusion.
A gleaming scale rested in the vibrant grass next to the snake's destroyed remains. The scale appearing to be around a foot long, completely out of place due to certain glaring details.
First of all, not a single other scale survived the massive power of the explosion, second...
The thing was much larger than the snake's other scales had been, and was completely undamaged!
No burns, scratches, or dents, it was completely devoid of deformities.
Einer stooped to lift up the weighty slab of keratin, examining the intriguing piece of deceased reptile.
After failing to pinpoint exactly what was up with the item, he slipped it into the large adventurer's pack on his back to get it checked out later.
Einer then took a seat and leaned back into his cushy pack as a pillow, preparing to rest for a bit in order to replenish his energy, and after he felt the comfort of his new energy level being filled, he made to head out into the woods yet again.
after wandering around for a time, Einer surprisingly encountered something he was familiar with!
In the distance, he saw a large centipede prowling around, the exact same [Bladed Centipede] species he had fought against back in the emergency quest.
Forming a concentrated ball of thermal energy in his hand, the centipede became aware of Einer's presence, and began to fade from sight using its camouflage skill.
Even though he could no longer see it, Einer didn't panic and took aim, taking into account that the bug couldn't have moved far, combined with its limited movement options in the dense forest.

The finished magic projectile sped in a straight path along where the centipede had vanished just seconds earlier, the visual effect of the spell coming into contact with something invisible to the eye playing out immediately after.
Einer had felt out the amount of energy it had taken for him to kill the first centipede, and packed it all into one spell to guarantee a quick victory.
Walking over to survey the results, a centipede now lay literally in pieces as a system message appeared conveniently in sync with his confirmation of the monster's death.

It felt strange, as this was the first monster of the Geode Rank that Einer had defeated without receiving multiple levels, not to mention failing to go up even one.
'Well, I guess it checks out, I'm much higher in level now, combined with the fact that this guy is the lowest levelled Geode Rank I've ever killed.'
He set off again being content that it was still a pretty decent chunk of exp, and excitedly hunted for even more enemies he had no business being able to defeat.
And after many more hours, during which the night had passed and the next day begun, Einer had successfully achieved level thirty without any injury.
Although it took some time to find each enemy along with the difficulty of the last few level's exp requirements, he was incredibly pleased with the fact that he was bordering on what other Stone Rankers dreamt of on a daily basis.

Einer stared at these messages, awaiting a further explanation only to receive none.
'Well fuck, I guess I need to ask about THIS now too.'
He turned back, his magenta eyes focused on the forest as he used his best intuition to guide himself out along to the same route he made his way in, and after a few hours of travel only interrupted by a short nap, Einer had emerged from the [Mahjinaki Forest] and set his gaze upon Breezy Meadow Town only a few kilometers away.
'Alright, time to figure some things out!'
'And hopefully not get killed by that ominous dude and whoever he might send after me.'
'Should be fine now with the whole level 30 thing and all... I think.'
