Chereads / Prince's Crown and One Human-alike / Chapter 7 - 7. Butterfly Manor

Chapter 7 - 7. Butterfly Manor

"Your... manor...?"

"Yes"

"It's huge."

"Indeed, it is. Let's go inside."

I nodded and entered the house. 'Why did he bring me here? Just to talk?'

To my surprise, the interior of the house was more grandeur than I thought it would be. It indeed had three floors.

We were standing in the hall. It was decorated with expensive furniture and paintings. There was a huge chandlery hanging in the middle. Some candleholder was placed here and there as well.

As far as one could look there were only expensive and beautiful things. One might feel the owner was extravagant. It's not like I fancied these but still, I was in awe.

"How did you earn so much?"

"Eh?" Iyan was far away from me as he kept walking while I was standing. So, when he looked back, he scoffed.

"Ha ha, why are you standing there? Let me take you to a place you would really like. Or do you like it here?" His smile made him look like a gentleman.

"No, it's okay. Let's go there."

There was a staircase in the left corner. Beside it was a white door. The door opened automatically. Inside, it looked like an elevator. It started to move as soon as we got in. I searched for the switch. But Iyan stopped me, he pointed to the wall on my right. There was some number scripted on a box. They were plain and almost invisible. What surprised me most was the number 'B3'. 'So, there are also three basement floors.' The elevator opened with a 'ding' before I could think anymore.

"Is it the top floor?" I asked.

"Yes, it is."

The elevator took us to a round-shaped luxurious room. One part of the room was arranged with tables and chairs and another part looked like an arcade. Iyan walked through the room and opened a door that had the same color as the wall, creating a camouflage of not having a door in the room. I kept looking back and forth, checking up on every little thing.

'My family is well off, yet it is absurd to live in such luxury in this time and era. Moreover, Iyan's job doesn't pay so much to build all of this. Or do they...?' I kept following Iyan while thinking.

We passed one more room which was pretty much a study and reached a kitchen. Outside the kitchen was the terrace. Between them was a glass.

'But where is Iyan?' I was distracted by the fancy dishes that were of ancient designs, meanwhile, Iyan was gone. 'What the heck?'

"*crack"

The whole glass went up.

"Eh!"

From the moment I got into the house, I was nothing but amazed. But this was something else.

"Pool... Wow..." I ran toward the swimming pool outside the kitchen.

"Ahhahaha," a peal of soft laughter came from some distance. "You must like it a lot." I searched for the voice.

"Here, up."

I looked up. Above the kitchen, Iyan was standing behind the glass which was the wall of the kitchen a while ago. The glass turned out to be an automated door and railing of the terrace.

"Where're the stairs?"

"In the kitchen; the opposite of the stoves. But wait..." Iyan leaped down as if he was as light as a feather.

"We can just fly up there," he stepped toward me, smiling.

"Well, I can't fly," swaying my hands, I refused.

"Oh... then let me take you there," He lifted me up as if I was baggage. I tried resisting but he was too fast.

"Up we go..."

"Don't treat me like a child. I am not a child." I yelled. I was annoyed to the core.

"Well... Um... I am not intending to do so... um... It's only that... compared to me you are still a child..."

'Excuses'

"Even so... don't do that."

"Okay. Now, don't be so angry. Have a sit."

I looked around. There was a table and chairs. But I didn't sit down, rather walked around.

On the south corner, there were big trees blocking the sight. But as one could inspect, the house was situated on the top of a mountain and surrounded by more mountains. It didn't look like Ipoh to me.

So, a question arose in my mind, 'Where the f*** are we?'

But instead of questioning, I sat down.

"Well, this place is in the mountains, but in another dimension," Iyan said.

"Woah... so you can also read people's minds!" I was surprised. There was no way he could tell this if he couldn't.

"Not really... It's just you are too easy to read." He chuckled.

Embarrassed, I tried to change the subject, "Earlier, what did you mean by dimension..? another world or something...?"

"Ah..." Iyan sat down in my opposite chair. "Not another world, several dimensions of this world. For example, now we are in a dimension where humans can't see us. Not only humans, but many other creatures also can't see us."

"Why? Why can't they see us?"

"Because we are in another dimension..." Iyan noticed I didn't get it. He started to fidget, thinking about how to make me understand. "Okay, look... humans have five external sensory organs, right?"

I nodded.

"Humans can feel, taste, see, smell, and hear through them, right?"

I again nodded.

"But they have their limitations. For example, you can't see anything closer than 25 cm to you. You can't see viruses, atoms, or molecules with bare eyes. You can only listen within the frequency 20 Hz to 20k Hz, right?"

I nodded, "Yes, but what are you trying to imply?"

"I am saying that there are so many things in this world which humans can't see, hear or smell normally."

I was getting impatient, "Yeah, there is. But what do they get to do anything with dimension?"

"This is all about dimension. There are many things surrounding humankind that are beyond their abilities. Some, they did discover, but many, couldn't. And humans can't discover them until those things come to light by themselves."

He paused, gathered his thought, and started again, "And thus they believe what they see is the real world, the time they are living in is the real-time. The time they spent is the past, spending is present, and will spend is the future. But that's not true. Humans are living in one dimension which is going according to the time related to them not knowing anything about others. Their surroundings are all relevant to them, drawing a very thin line between all other dimensions. But if one can pass through that line, then they could reach another dimension." He stopped, looking at me with the look saying "any question?"

I heard everything very attentively. Though I couldn't imagine all of it, I thought I kinda get it. So, I shook my head left and right.

Iyan smiled, "Young master, you are kinda smart." He nodded his head and started again, "So, what about other dimensions? What are they for? When you think about it, the first thing that comes to your mind is another species as intelligent or much intelligent than humankind."

I jumped up, "You mean there are aliens?"

"Uh... huh. You may assume that but I don't know if there are any. By alien, you meant species that are living on any other planet than this one? As far as we know, there isn't any in this galaxy. But I can't say that there aren't any possibilities of the existence of aliens in any faraway galaxy. But..."

"Then what are you trying to say?" I asked.

Being interrupted twice, it seemed Iyan got distracted. "Please, sit down first."

He paused for a while and said, "I am talking about some other species that are living in this world but humans know very little about them. They are as intelligent as humans, they have their own language, societies, families, technologies. They live in another dimension than that one with humans. Their abilities are also different. Some people know about them as some of these creatures often try to communicate with humans. But most humans are afraid of them. Humans called them ghosts, ghouls, jinn, souls, spirits, etc. And humans have many explanations about them, both correct and wrong."

"Oh," I said, halfheartedly, couldn't decide what to believe or what to not. I guessed this hesitation of mine was because I used to not believing anything that contradicts science. But after seeing all these, I couldn't decide if I should deny these.

"It seems you are not a human either, Iyan." I murmured.

Iyan smiled again, "Yes, Dean babu, I also think that too."

'Eh, only think? he doesn't know?' Dumbfounded, I looked at Iyan.

"You see, ghoul, ghost, jinn, spirits are basically one species that had the most similarities with humans. Even though not all of them are intelligent, but many of them are. There are two more species other than this one. One is called angels by humans..."

"Haha, yes they exist..." Iyan saw my surprised expression and answered before I got to ask.

"Well, about the another one... Humans and spirits don't know about them and... and angels won't give us any unnecessary information... and the other species are rare... almost never seen or heard off... but some say there is such..."

"So, which side are you?"

"I don't know. I have biological traits similar to both humans and spirits." Iyan seemed kinda distracted. "For example, I have wings and some psychic powers, but I live on human foods, my DNA structure matches human too. So, nobody couldn't say what I am."

"What about your parents?"

"I had never seen them. But, this house is what I own from them."

"Oh, sorr..."

"No need."

Everything went silent for a while. Iyan didn't look sad, rather he seemed a bit distracted and concentrating on hearing something. But my curiosity just started. I had some questions I wanted to ask. So, I decided to ask.

"You said humans can't see or evade through another dimension. But, how...?"

Iyan nodded his head, "I didn't say that. It could happen. If a human is not an average human, they can do so. And once entering another dimension, it will increase their physical abilities as well."

"So, I am not an average human?"

"You are not average of course."

Surprised, I said, "What is special about...?"

"Murr..."

I couldn't finish the line. With a loud thud, the table snapped into several pieces. My vision got blurry and I felt someone dragged me to a corner.
