Nesrin clenched her hand into a fist, fighting the overwhelming aura. She wanted to think of a good excuse but her thoughts were scattered. Though it happened differently, her mind was once again stumbling from this mere presence.
It reminded her of the helplessness she had felt around Izekiel and her blood ran cold at this realization. How could she ever hope to defeat them, when they made her weak so easily?
Then she stiffened.
A voice was there, faint but familiar. It was Ezrahl, she concluded.
But...
There was no room in the empty hallway, no door that could lead to Ezrahl. But his voice was there and soon Nesrin realized that the voice was coming from the walls.
Her heart was sinking within the depths of fear as Nesrin forced herself to keep moving, she followed the sound of his voice and walked deeper down the hallway. It became a little darker and she paused as Izekiel's words came back to her.
The shadows made her wary.
