Her lips parted and then closed in disbelief.
"or have you fallen to your death?"
She awkwardly looked at her hands that have opened the windows a little and the endless dark void that carried a strange compulsion. Her throat became dry.
Izekiel's light footsteps approached closer, "I hope that is not the case since you were never so reckless."
Nesrin could not understand what went wrong. She was sure she had made no sound that he could hear nor was she in a place where he could see her unless he lifted the curtains.
And then he did pull the curtains.
She sucked in a sharp breath, but she had already left through the windows by then, balancing herself on a narrow ledge with surprising and frightening skill. Nesrin was hidden on the side, away from his eyes.
Izekiel could not see her and for a moment, she almost dared to relax.
