The last words she wanted to say were lost forever.
Lillian sadly smiled as she knelt on the floor and covered Cassandra's eyes. She glanced at Aaron with a gaze full of pity, a mocking grief.
"You don't understand."
His gaze was still upon Cassandra, there was an absolute silence in his heart, a deathly air that suffocated him, and a stirring despair that made him no longer feel like himself.
The dull blade of his sword brimmed with a flickering mana. His prowess were almost depleted due to his injuries and the fight before, but watch life slip through Cassandra caused something to stir inside of him.
"Y-Your Grace..." Myrtle's voice broke, her body had gone cold from being so close to death but when Aaron's eyes met the empress, and that unbothered amused look, a revolting feeling twisted inside of him.
"I don't need her," Lillian smiled, "You may do whatever you wish, but either way, the end is inevitable now."
