Cassandra paused near the lake, her breaths were a little labored as she softly panted and the faint puff of cold left her lips. As she watched Nesrin break down little by little, she was not sure what to do or say.
They were not in a relationship where she could comfort Nesrin. The past they shared had been far from pleasant and Cassandra had tried to kill her once.
She pressed her lips together bitterly.
Her heart carried little remorse since all she did was for the sake of the greater good, for the presence of humanity and to avoid the dreadful future that awaits them all.
Also, she can not forget what happened to her sister.
With hurried fingers, she removed her thick cloak and wrapped it around Nesrin. She made sure it covered her well, and without saying anything, she just remained there silently.
