Nesrin's eyes opened late that night, from a sudden sharp pain in her heart as if needles have pricked it deep. The memories of past ended abruptly and the rest of night was spent turning around on the bed.
Her mind was wide awake, and unable to comprehend all that she had seen. She wondered what had happened to Izekiel in all those years. The changes he underwent were drastic, from someone that can risk his life for a hamster to a cold blooded king that massacred those that defied him.
What bothered her more was that Izekiel had probably spent a good time in the healer's valley, he must have been acquainted to those that lived there... then why would he act so harshly with them?
There were sudden rasps against the door that brought her out of the thoughts. She glanced at the sky outside, it was a deep shade of indigo and hence too early.
What could Izekiel possibly want at such a time?
She knew that no one else would usually come in his quarters.
