"Nice to meet you too." Kosair said as he shook River Maya's hand.
After that, River turned to introduce himself to Iris.
Kole puts a hand on his twin's shoulder, about to witness something magical. Kosair looked back at Kole with a sad smile, remembering that he wasn't as magical as he remembered.
River reached out his hand to Iris. "River." He said with a big smile.
Iris gave him a big grin. "Iris." She said with great enthusiasm and shook River's hand.
A simple handshake could at best last for a couple of seconds but theirs lasted longer. The emerald green eyes of Iris met River's Icy blue ones. They could feel that connection.
It seemed like the rest of the world around them turned into a blur and time slowed down for a moment when their hands' touch and their eyes met. 'My Soulmate' They thought. They were right. They knew they were right.
This love only comes once in a lifetime but they got to meet twice. The first wasn't the best but they finally got together with another chance of a fresh start.
"You're..." River muttered under his breath.
Iris nodded. "My Soulmate." She finished.
Kosair and Kole smiled at the spectacle. A silent tear rolled down her cheek, making both of them nervous. They looked at each other nervously. 'Didn't the contract work?' Kosair looked at Kole with that expression. Kole just shrugged, not knowing what to say.
Kosair cleared his throat, making the newly found couple look at him with curiosity. "Iris...are you alright?" Kosair asked with genuine concern. Iris looked at Kosair with a bewildered look. She absolutely knows she is fine. "You're starting to cry."
Before Iris could wipe her tears away, River beat her to it. She held his hand and shook her head. "Tears of joy, perhaps" Iris said as she lovingly looked at River.
This time, Kole was starting to feel salty. "Alright, I'm having enough of this sweetness." He tapped on his twin's shoulder. "We'll be heading on our way first. Why don't you two go on a stroll or..." He suggested with a smirk. "a date."
Iris and River hid their faces in embarrassment from Kole's suggestion but they both nodded in response.
"See you later." Kole sends a salute to the two love birds and drags Kosair behind him. Kosair waved goodbye at the couple and started to catch up with Kole's swimming.
The two brothers silently swim off and exit Coral City. The music and chatter of the people started to fade away the farther they got, making Kole at ease. He looks down and sees an elderly woman with something glowing in her hands.
Kole started to swim down towards the old woman. 'I'd be stupid enough to believe if it's burning fire contained in a bubble." He was always fond of shiny things and magic. Even if he is a royal who possesses magic and has powers, he'd still find anything magical very fascinating.
Kosair looked back to say something to Kole but he disappeared. He looked around and see his twin swimming towards an elderly Shokoy. Curiosity struck him since he hasn't seen one of them for a very long time.
He swam to meet his brother and as he arrived, the elderly shokoy looked at Kosair with a sad smile.
Kole shook his brothers with great excitement written on his face. "Kosair! She said she can predict our futures for us." His eyes brightly beamed as he waits for his brother's response.
Kosair exhaled in defeat and smiled. "Alright. How much?" He asked the elderly shokoy.
She still had a sad smile on her face which made Kosair feel unsettling with this interaction.
The old woman chuckled. "It won't be much. Let me tell you your futures first. It has something to do with it." She held out an orb that held a burning flame inside it. "How strange...what is this I'm seeing?"
