Chapter 26 - Let’s Work Together

"Which one?"

An uneasy thought suddenly appeared in Schubert's mind.

"Could it be that there's more than one mole?"

Schubert asked in surprise. The fortress that he thought was impregnable had been breached long ago by not one but two moles!

"There's a total of two moles."

Lott raised two fingers.

"This information can be considered a free gift."

Seeing Schubert's face gradually turning gloomy, Lott's goal had been achieved. He was playing the long game.

The pace of this negotiation was firmly in Lott's hands.

As he finished speaking, Lott took out a piece of paper with a number written on it and signaled for the other party to take it.

These numbers were an overseas Citibank account belonged to Lott. He had long been prepared to deal with this money.

Schubert leaned slightly against the back of his chair and glanced at the assistant standing at the side.

The assistant, who was wearing a business suit, walked toward Lott.

The assistant took the note from Lott.

Schubert nodded at the assistant.

Following a burst of digital input...

"Buzz..."

Lott's phone suddenly vibrated. He picked up the phone and glanced at it. A series of numbers appeared.

Schubert had transferred 10 million US dollars to Lott in front of him.

For ordinary people, this was an astronomical figure that they would never earn in their entire lives!

Lott put his phone away, his expression unchanged.

When the bank balance was transferred to his account, Lott thought he was happy. However, his heart was filled with mixed feelings.

Five years ago, Lott got up early, worked overtime every day, and only earned more than 10,000 yuan a month.

10 million yuan was once a fortune Lott could not get even if he looked up to it. Now that he got it, it did not make him very happy.

Lott just felt that this world was really unfair...

...

"It's Jack."

After receiving the text message, Lott looked at Schubert and said in a deep voice.

Hearing this name, Schubert's brows immediately furrowed. A trace of suspicion appeared in his eyes.

Jack was an elder of the group. Schubert and Jack had been working together since the start of the company more than ten years ago.

Schubert had suspected many people, but he had never doubted Jack.

Lott, with the attitude of working for money, told Schubert who the mole was.

"Jack was assigned by the Ian Family. He owed a large amount of gambling debts and was controlled by the other party."

Then Lott searched for a few key pieces of evidence and informed them to the other party.

The captain of the bodyguards following behind Schubert received the signal and walked out of the office.

The assistant also walked out of the office.

Schubert had paid Lott on the spot and of course, he had to inspect the goods on the spot too.

If the other party dared to lie to him...

Schubert did not mind letting him know his methods.

Soon, the two men rushed back with cold faces.

They whispered something in Schubert's ear.

After hearing it, Schubert's expression suddenly froze. A hint of fatigue appeared in his eyes. He reached out to rub his eyes.

Schubert remained silent for a long time. He covered his face and gave the order.

"Do it cleanly."

Jack had been an old friend for many years. Schubert did not expect for him to make such a mistake.

This made a businessman like Schubert, who had seen great storms, a little tired. Soon, he had sorted out his emotions.

"Who's the other one?"

Lott had already proven his worth.

Schubert signaled his assistant to transfer another ten million into Lott's account.

There was still a mole and Schubert had to know who it was.

Jack had already proven to be a surprise for Schubert.

Now, no matter who Lott said it was, Schubert would not let his heart waver again.

At that moment, Lott smiled. Then, he quickly pointed his finger at Schubert... To the assistant behind him.

The bodyguards reacted very quickly.

Around a dozen bodyguards drew their guns and pointed them at him.

They looked at Lott, who was surrounded by bodyguards with guns.

"What do you mean?"

Lott's actions made Schubert a little uncertain.

"The other mole is very well hidden."

Even with so many guns pointed at him, Lott replied casually.

"Assistant, don't you think so?"

Schubert's face suddenly darkened.

"This is my cousin. He was brought along since he was young. I know him. He wouldn't do anything to betray me."

Schubert would not let anyone else take the position of the personal assistant unless he trusted the person, especially in Chicago where there were opponents everywhere.

"Yeah, how could I betray my brother! Don't slander me!"

At first, the assistant was a little flustered when he was pointed out, but he calmed down when he saw Schubert defending him.

The assistant firmly believed that no one could find out what he had done. However, he was wrong. Lott knew much more than he had imagined.

"A month ago, the real estate company discussed the minutes of the meeting. He took all these records and sent them to the other party as photos.

"A week ago, he told the other party where your funds were flowing, so that the other party could take necessary actions against your company.

"Just yesterday, he even embezzled the money from your account and bought a house for his woman.

"Jack has a backup of all your current accounts. You can ask Jack."

Lott randomly picked out a few results from the search and said a few.

At this time, the assistant's expression was a little uncertain.

Everything Lott said was true!

Schubert's face turned gloomy.

The captain of the bodyguards also understood the signal and quickly went out.

Less than ten minutes later, the door was opened again.

Then, the captain of the bodyguard stood behind Schubert, blocking the assistant's line of sight. He said a few words into Schubert's ear.

"Boss, Jack confessed. Mr. Lott is right."

"Bang!"

Schubert punched the table.

Everything was clear.

"Why did you betray me!"

Schubert turned around and angrily lifted the assistant's collar!

"I personally brought you here and this is how you repay me!"

At this time, the assistant was already drenched with sweat. He opened his mouth and stammered, not daring to make a sound.

"Because he was seduced by Jack.

"Why is he able to have such a huge amount of wealth when he's just a low-ranking assistant?

"Why are you so rich and he can only manage your accounts?"

Lott's words were like needles piercing Schubert's heart.

"In the end, he chose to betray you and squander your money at will.

"The amount in your account should have been greatly reduced by now."

Schubert glanced at Lott and immediately ordered his subordinates to bring his assistant away.

After all, the next step was to deal with family matters and it was inconvenient to let the other party participate.

Schubert adjusted his suit. His originally decent and straight jacket had become a little wrinkled due to his movements.

Schubert was a person who wanted to maintain his dignity no matter what happen. Although his feelings had been hurt by the two moles today, his ability was unquestionable.

Schubert quickly adjusted his emotions.

"The other ten million hasn't been transferred yet."

Lott reminded Schubert in a low voice.

"Let's work together.

"Mr. Lott."

Schubert said solemnly.
