Glamour's POV
Just when I thought I had forgotten all about my current predicament because I had become busy the moment I woke up that I had completely forgotten the last phone call I received last night until she said what she did making my mood instantly go from being excited to start with the decoration to been sullen.
However, I had to quickly mask it before she sees my face and think that something was wrong.
"There really isn't much to tell though," I said with a nervous laugh afraid she might catch something was wrong from how u sounded.
"Oh come on now, that's the only way to redeem yourself from not telling about the wedding," she said and playfully hit my arm and all I did was offer a tight-lipped smile.
"Let's start working first, I'll tell you what you want to know," I offered and that made her eyes kit up before we both looked around the room trying to decide where to hang some of the garlands I had gotten as I wanted to decoration theme to be a mix of Pakistani events and also casual events decoration held here in the states.
"I think the garlands should be hung by the stairs and some of it at the door," Visha suggests and while thinking about what she said I couldn't help but agree with her.
However, we couldn't hang them on our own and we had to wait until Hamdi git back down before he helped us in hanging them.
"So, where did you guys meet?" Mavisha asked, for a moment I had thought she had completely forgotten about what she asked earlier but hearing her speak now I know she only hadn't asked because we were busy trying to decide where to hang the garlands.
"At a friends party," I lied and she wiggled her eyebrow as if to say tell me more.
"Stop, that's it nothing more to tell," I told her hoping the conversation was going to end there but if I knew Mavisha too well that was probably not going ti be the case.
"Why was the wedding rushed tho? Did you..." She trailed her eyes moving down to look at my stomach and that made me choke on my saliva making me go into a fits of cough.
"God, sorry are you okay?" She asked while tapping my back gently and my coughing had caught Hamdi's attention.
"You guys okay down there?" He asked and that made me look up to nod at him but I noticed his eyes wasn't on me but looking at someone else.
I followed the line of his eye sight to see he was staring at Mavisha and the way she was smiling shyly made me squint my eyes while looking from the both of them and my detective senses instantly told me something was definitely going on between them.
The thought that they were a couple or could become one made me forget all about my cough as a warm smile spread across my face and in as much as I didn't mind the cute stares they were sharing I had to get things done faster.
I moved to say something but both had quickly looked away from the other, reminding me if how Hamdi always told me about how in Islam you shouldn't stare at the opposite gender unless they were family, something about lowering gaze? And that only made me smile at the two even more.
I hear wedding bells, a loud voice in my head said.
"I think I'm going to leave you two to hanging the garlands and go blow out the balloons," I told them and they both nodded.
I turned and handed the garland I had been holding to Visha and then turned to go puck the balloons and the helium we got the other day when I realized I hadn't brought my phone with me, and I should be getting calls from the chair and tables renting companies soon, so I decided to go pick up my phone first before blowing the balloons.
After grabbing my cell phone, I checked for any missed calls but there were none, and that made me sigh. Thank God for that I wouldn't want to seem un serious to them since it's my first time and all.
I had managed to plan the guest list and the tables each families would have last night when I couldn't go to sleep and it was after I was done that I had managed to fall asleep so now if only Maya would get here early then everything would be perfect before or by evening.
So I decided to call Maya seeing it was already 7 24 am and I told her to be here by 7 am.
"Hey," she groggily said unto the phone making me press my lips tightly.
"Don't tell me you're not up already?" I said sternly my eyes narrowing into a slit she knew I need her.
"I'm so sorry Glam, I'm it's TOM," she croaked out and my heart instantly went to her..
"Oh my God are you okay?" I worried knowing her cramps were deadly.
"Yeah, I'll be fine, I'm sorry I can't be there," she apologized making me feel bad and I told her she didn't need to and told her I've gotten a few more hands and she should rest before ending the call.
I guess I should sprint and do things fast because now I'm going to have to blow the balloons all by myself until Visha and Dee were done hanging the garlands, I thought and without noticing I had missed my step, I closed my eyes and prepared myself to hit face first on the ground, but for some reason that never happened.
A pair of hands was stretched out to catch me, but whoever the person was didn't matter as my eyes widened when I noticed where the persons hands were, or rather what was been stopped from hitting the ground by the persons hands.
And that made me quickly try to bring myself to a stand, and if my eyes had widened earlier, then right now they were literally bulging out of their sockets when I saw who had stopped me from falling.
"D- Darhl?"
