"Why are you crying and still want to be hugged by that jerk Mark?" Amanda asked while. At this time, the beautiful girl was taking a taxi with her sister heading home.
"The last hug," Amanda replied casually.
"Are you feeling better now? I mean ... with your new status?" Amanda asked again. She looked at Adriana very intensely and could see the sadness still on her face, even the traces of tears were visible.
"Hmm... where is there anyone who wants to be unwedded? I'm sure a lot of people will think badly of me. I will be the gossip of people. But, this is all better than me having to live in that house and share the love with Maura." Adriana answered while massaging her temples. She felt dizzy because she had been crying for a long time.
"I didn't expect your husband to be like that. I used to admire him but now I hate him for hurting you," Amanda said curtly.
Adriana took a deep breath and then exhaled slowly. "Me too, but I have to stay friends with him so Evan doesn't get sad and share the shattered feeling of this breakup."
"Poor Evan," Amanda muttered then glanced at Adriana again. "You have to find another husband who loves you and him sincerely."
"Hey, I'm just officially divorced, won't be looking for a replacement so soon!" Adriana patted Amanda's thigh.
"Haha ... yeah. But just one day the news of your divorce spreads, then there will be a lot of men waiting in line to approach you, mind you!" Amanda meant to cheer.
"Hmm? I feel like a girl again hahaha..." Adriana chuckled feeling free and having a chance to be happy with another man in the future. She will indeed start a new life without a husband. That means she will be looking for a companion again even if not directly because she will focus more on her child and family.
Drett ... drett...
Adriana's smartphone which was stored in her small black bag vibrated. She immediately took it and saw an incoming call from Zach, then immediately answered it.
"Hello, Zach," said Adriana
"Where are you? Why are there only your employees in the shop?" Zach asked over the phone.
"I'm on my way home and I'm not going to the store today," Adriana replied.
"Where did you come from?"
"I just had my divorce trial." Adriana bent her face, stared at the window, almost crying every time she discussed the divorce that had just been formalized.
"Hmm. I'm going to your house."
The phone line suddenly disconnected. Adriana exhaled roughly, then put her phone back. 'Why did he come home? doesn't he know that I need some time alone to find peace?' she was annoyed.
"Just officially divorced, someone has started to approach. My sister is full of charm hahaha ..." Amanda laughed teasingly after knowing Adriana had received attention from another man.
"That was Zach," Amanda said with a look of horror.
"Oh... He's always been so nice to you. Why weren't you two in a relationship a long time ago? After all, you're close." Amanda wondered. she does understand how Zach and Adriana were close but never had a serious relationship.
Adriana was silent and didn't respond to Amanda. Her sister was very talkative while she was reluctant to talk about Zach who was not clear on what purpose to approach her. Maybe just as a wound healer, and after that leave or just promise an intimate friend relationship. it's so annoying.
____
Zach stopped his car in Adriana's yard. After that, another car came and the owner immediately got out. It was Dave who arrived earlier than Adriana.
"Zach," said Dave.
"Why are you here?" Zach asked curtly.
"You shouldn't, and what's your problem if I come here?" Dave said curtly, then walked towards the main door of Adriana's house. 'He will approach Adriana,' he thought disapprovingly.
____
Zach was still standing leaning against his car. His eyes fell on the taxi that stopped in front of him. Adriana and Amanda were seen getting of the taxi.
Seeing Zach in front of his house, Adriana immediately approached him while Amanda entered the house.
"Why are you here?" asked Adriana with a flat expression.
"I was worried about you," Zach said sadly.
"Why me?" asked Adriana sarcastically, then turned her face away. She was tired of seeing Zach who cares so much. Moreover, the woman was sensitive to the man. She had just divorced because her husband was unfaithful. Of course, she was traumatized.
Instead of answering, Zach glanced at Adriana and brought his face closer. "Looks like you've been crying. Your eyes are puffy, your nose is a little red." Zach touched Adriana's nose.
"None of your business." Adriana immediately pushed Zach's hand away from his nose.
Zach sighed, looking at Adriana who was always curt even though he missed her cheerfulness and friendliness to him a few years ago. "Why do you always ignore me, Adriana?" he asked
"I'm not in the mood, Zach," Adriana answered as she walked into the house leaving Zach alone. The man immediately followed him into the house.
In the living room, Dave was already playing with Evan with Amanda too. The man seemed to miss his nephew very much because he had not seen him for several days.
Seeing Dave with Amanda, Adriana smiled. 'Looks great,' she thought.
"Adriana," said Dave when he noticed Adriana's presence.
"You got here first," said Adriana with a friendly smile.
"I'm speeding," replied Dave who also smiled kindly.
"Well, I'll go to my room first," said Adriana.
"Mom... I'm coming." Evan slumped off Dave's lap and ran towards his mother.
Adriana smiled hugging Evan. She immediately kissed her chubby cheek and looked adorable. Seeing the child who was always cheerful, made her sadness a little cured.
"Honey, have you had a nap?" Adriana asked Evan who was now in her arms. The boy just kept silent watching his mother's puffy eyes.
"I don't think so," said Amanda
"Where's Mommy?" ask Adriana
"In the kitchen," Amanda answered, while Dave relaxed again by playing with his cellphone. just then Zach came and sat on the other couch because there were two sodas in there.
"you wanna drink milk?" asked Adriana, looking at her son's eyes that looked sad. Maybe the child was sleepy because it was time for a nap.
"Mama will make, after drinking milk, you should sleep, okay!" Adriana exclaimed to which Evan only nodded. she immediately made milk for her son in the kitchen.
After drinking milk, Adriana immediately took Evan to the room, then put him to sleep.
Because he was so sleepy, just ten minutes lay in his mother's arms, Evan fell asleep immediately. The young mother immediately let go of her child's arms and adjusted the sleeping position as comfortably as possible.
"I'm sorry, dear. I can't be with your dad anymore. but you will not lack love, even though daddy will not always see you as usual," Adriana muttered as she looked down at Evan who was already asleep. There was a deep pain when she looked at her son's innocent face because she feels that she has failed to be a good mother. After all, she cannot maintain her family until the child is far away from his father.
