In Hope's eyes, it was the amazement of a baby when he first met a dog or saw a leaf move in the wind. Despite the fact that she was looking at a larger-than-life picture before her, she had to wait a moment before the new information sank in. Her lips grew wide with a gaping grin as her eyebrows arched skyward.
The word magnificent couldn't quite cover it. Green scales were wrapping the massive body which was standing on two legs, with another two coming from its shoulders. Or those were arms? Hope couldn't say.
A pair of enormous wings were outstretched, casting a shadow over Hope and the whole forest and meadow. The light that passed through them had a green, sickly tint. As the wings contracted around the dragon, Hope could see the green phosphorescent light piercing through the scales on its chest and belly.
