Her locks covered the soft silken pillow, but somehow her hair looked even smoother. The man did not want to wake her, yet he could not help himself. He sat down lightly on the bed, leaning on one elbow. With his other hand, he began to caress her honey-blond hair.
In the deep silence, her whisper sounded like a scolding cry. "I was worried for you. I found out from the other servants that you are back. "
Terix smiled. So that was how a man felt when his wife rebuked him. It was interesting that it didn't taste bad at all. Instead, it was rather pleasing to know how much she cared. There was simply no point in telling her all the story. The result was all that mattered. Both Hope and Ayala were safe now that things had been settled.
