Zeir lightly stepped forward, approaching the villagers near the fire. The way he moved was such that he did not appear threatening at all. "My name is Zeir Druvan, and I am one of the creatures indigenous on Elytreea."
The people glared at him, some with distrust, others with boredom. Maybe they had lost the will to hope.
Agatha's mother narrowed her eyes and folded her arms across her chest without saying anything.
"I'll break the wall and help you reach Kalas. There you'll be safe. We now have the cure for the illness that affects humans and turns them into mindless monsters." Zeir made another step. The fire lit his bronze eyes and pale face. "I know you don't have any reason to trust me, but believe one thing. The only outcome if you remain here is to be eaten by my brethren. With me, you stand a chance. You have a few minutes to decide."
